Hi all,

I installed the cryoEM cloud tool and aswcli. when I typed awsls, it shown me the following message, I am not quite sure what could be wrong, anyone could give me some idea? Thank you! ( I double checked the keypair, access key ID and secret key):

"AWS EC2 information for user jliu321_west in region us-west-2

For people are new to AWS and doesn't have much knowledge about unix system and so. Looks like the installation is actually working even though it doesn't show information about instance and so as instructed. I tried to create EBS volume, launch instance (http://cryoem-tools.cloud/command-line-tools-tutorial/),  and login into the instance. It all worked. if you have a problem with the keypair error (as following), you could use chomd 400
chmod 400 /Users/myself/Documents/MyAccessKey1.pem (https://99robots.com/how-to-fix-permission-error-ssh-amazon-ec2-instance/) Then you should be able to login.
Permissions 0777 for '.ssh/my_private_key.pem' are too open.

It is required that your private key files are NOT accessible by others.

This private key will be ignored.

bad permissions: ignore key: .ssh/my_private_key.pem

Permission denied (publickey).

Hello - yes, as jliu321 said - your installation is working fine (assuming you haven't launched any machines yet using cryoem-cloud-tools.

To test this, try launching a test machine:

$ awslaunch --instance=t2.micro --availZone=us-east-2a --noEBS

Note on availZone - region and availability zone go here. For me, I'm using Ohio (US-East-2) and zone a, which will be specified in lower case: us-east-2a.
noEBS -> indicates do not attach any EBS volume, just boot up instance.

This will launch a machine and after it is finished, you should see it when you type:

$ awsls
