While this hasn't been integrated into the api (yet), we do have a lot
more data we're exposing today -- plus RSS feeds for edits. Check
out: http://blog.crunchbase.com/2008/07/30/crunchbase-now-with-full-revision-history-real-diffing-and-rss-feeds/

superb!

Any chance of getting wikipedia url equivalents for companies that
have their pages there? :)

That would be a killer feature when integrating with larger datasets,
semantic web, etc.

But even without that, the data is amazingly useful and well picked!

Hey Andraz,

Thanks for the kind words :)

So with Wikipedia, do you want just a simple :wikipedia_url field for
each CrunchBase entity? So like if you look at twitter's feed:
http://api.crunchbase.com/v/1/company/twitter.js , there's an entry
for wikipedia_url, if it exists?

If this is not what you're looking for, can you elaborate a bit more?

Cheers,
-Henry

Yeah, this is exactly what I would be looking for! And I presume many
other (semantic) mashups also.

Just a simple wikipedia url for each entity (companies, people) where
such page exists on wikipedia.

For developers this means they can then map CB to Wikipedia then via
Wikipedia to other databases. For Twitter we would have
an :wikipedia_url field value "http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitter".
Then developers can map this to other sources and gather additional
semantic information. For example via dbPedia on http://dbpedia.org/page/Twitter
and via Freebase on http://www.freebase.com/view/guid/9202a8c04000641f800000000484d119

This means A LOT of added value for mashups and new background
knowledge for context analysis like Zemanta is doing...

bye

Hey Andraz,

I'll definitely take it into consideration.
