With Seign and company with us now, it's time to expand what we're going to do. We were also told before that we'll be able to change between parties. Seign will be going to the Empire to get information while Nowa and company head to the desert. You can change parties at any time by talking to Hildi. She's located at the entrance of the castle (inside).
Go ahead and head down to the first floor once you've regained control from all those scenes and you'll have a talk with Barnard. He tells us that to reach the desert we need to pass through a checkpoint northeast of Hishahn. This is Shandar Ridge and it was previously blocked off. Now we can go through.
Of course, just like the name of the page implies, we are going to go on a "Hero Gathering" spree. That's right! There are several new heroes to meet! Some of them we'll be able to recruit, some of them we can't just yet. But thankfully, since we've got Carrie with us now we can easily fast travel all over the place without the need to go through places... like the mines. Have we stated how much we hated going through the mines? Haha.
At this point, I went and did the "Sparklestone Grinding" so I could recruit Squash down below (BK got him much earlier... not that you need him). Still, note that getting him probably means you get a lot of Mystic Lumber as you grind, which I feel is an important note. After that, I built:
Raising your Headquarters Level increases what you can build, as well as unlocks some new characters we can now find, which is what BK really wanted to make sure you knew. After this though, I did sell quite a few resources and built:
Without Dire Beast Bones, Excellent Lacquer or certain Party Members, that's about all you can do right now and you should be ready for all the recruits down below! Note however... you can actually get Dire Beast Bones at Bounty Hill. We are headed there a bit further below, but BK wanted to point it out early! Let's continue!
Let's start things off here in our town. Talk to Iris and upgrade your town how you see fit. Hopefully you've been hoarding materials! The one thing that's important for you to do is to upgrade the Castle to Lv.2. This increases the amount of buildings and upgrades you can do.
Exit the castle and head to the area marked below to trigger a scene with a little girl dressed in green. It seems she's been stealing food from the alliance. One of the soldiers mention asking "B'baba" for help... who?
The soldier mentions that she's living in Daphan. Go on teleport over to Daphan (northeast of Hishahn) and once here enter the house in the northwestern corner (west of the Rune Shop). The woman inside is B'baba.
With B'baba in the alliance, let's go ask her if she can help us find that little girl. She's located inside the room on the right side of the first floor. Head on over there and a scene will play out immediately where she tells us that we can find the girl hanging out with a guy dressed in pink and is very loud. That can only be Yusuke.
After the girl runs away, head back to B'baba and she mentions the girl being with someone who's rude and dressed in white. Yep, that's Francesca. She's located directly across the first floor, inside the western room.
Go inside for another scene where Faye just runs away. Hmmm. Return to B'baba and she tells us that Faye is with a little girl and a "mammoth". This one is easy! This is Yume! Head upstairs to the second floor and check the western side to trigger a scene with Yume, Faye and us. After a while she ends up staying here with us in the alliance.
Next up, let's get another character: Leon. He is much easier to get. Simply head outside the castle and to the Western Gate and you'll see him slumped outside the gate! Talk to him a few times and you'll eventually recruit him, as that is what the "Runestone inside of him" wants him to do!
He tells us about a man named Gocteau and would love to work with him since he's establishing a guild. Of course we have Gocteau as part of the alliance already, but Enoe will only join if we have a guild set up.
Building the guild is actually pretty easy but do note that you need to recruit Huang since you need him in order to building the "Fishing Area". Also note that Dire Beast Bones can be found at Bounty Hill.
Enter the Rune Shop and speak to Code L. Remember that "Rune of Currents" this man wanted? Well we got it from the fight against the Pagurian, the boss in the Hishahn Lost Town "dungeon". Now that we have it simply talk to him and he'll join the alliance!
We have one more recruit you can get, although this recruit requires that you have Riufan (whom you should have by now). To do this though, first you must go back to your Castle Town and go into the Inn. After that, go talk to Riufan on the right-hand side of the Inn and he'll talk about an old ally in Daphan.Put him in your party now and go to Daphan.
We have another ally we can now get in the Castle Town. However, you must make sure you have Code L from the previous section. We also suspect you must have built his "Rune Shop" and the Rune Shop upgrade from the Town Building section. Be sure you do that for this next ally.
Yeah, getting into the rune-business has apparently attracted some weird customers... either way, we are now the minion of Milana, who will join the ranks and hang out by the cemetery.... Because of course she will...
Her name is Paquia and she raises chickens... eggfoots. We offer her to join the ranks and she will, but we need to bring her 5x Eggfoot Eggs so she can have more of these little fellas. Just the normal "Standard Grade" is fine. Of course this will also mean making that racetrack she mentioned, but that'll be at a later date.
Anyway, for these Eggfoot Eggs you want to fight the Shell Egg enemies. The best place to fight these are probably Redthroat Ridge where you can get into battles with three of them. You want the Regular Egg items: five of them. This requires some unfortunate grinding of course (BK watched some YouTube while doing this).
As you ask him to join the alliance, he'll join only if you bring him 10x Iron Ore hunks. That's it. Pretty easy! Note that you have to get these Iron Ores after talking to him. For some locations where you can get Iron Ore: Path to the Proving Grounds has a couple spots where you can gather it, the Abandoned Mine also has some deposits, and Redthroat Ridge.
She tells us that she likes big scores and that if we want a GREAT guild deputy (her) then we've gotta show her a real big score. This cannot be done just yet but we'll definitely remind you when we can come back.
During the scene with her she asks us to help her help the kid. She's looking for her cat, a black cat. Easy to find! Simply go directly west and in the southwestern corner of town you can find the cat.
Pick it up and you'll take it back automatically. Nice! She'll had over our reward... which is a Stamp Card. If you didn't know, our writer vinheim wrote a guide for the previous game, Eiyuden Chronicles Rising and he ended up HATING the stamps and the crazy amounts of sidequests so this is giving him nightmares haha!
Head on over to the Mountain Path and to find these Cockatrice Eggs you'll need to run around until you get into a fight with a Cockatrice (Adult). This enemy only appears right now and it has a chest behind it.
As per usual, target the chest first to get the contents (Cockatrice Eggs), then kill the enemy. It can hit quite hard so be careful. It doesn't really have a lot of HP so it'll go down in a turn or two.
ANYWAY, teleport back to Arenside, head to the item shop and talk to the NPC here to drop off the package. Afterwards return to Isha and, after many scenes, she finally joins the party. I promise she does this time!
His name is Jorhan and he'll recognize Perry immediately... or the other way around. He talks about the beauty of the paintings and whatnot. Perry mentions him seeking an impressive antique and we'll be helping him... later (we can't yet). Oh but not for him, but FOR THE PEOPLE!
This is Aire, and she will join us if we can beat her in a race. This recruitment may be based on Nowa's speed stat, but at Level 36, you can agree to join her in a race and you will (should) win (try and speed-boosting gear if you fail for whatever reason... or if you are under level 26). Still, come up successful and Aire will join and promise to train our troops as well!
Now, before we continue let's go explore a couple dungeons. Remember the 2 dungeons near your castle? Well, they've opened up a little bit, but not much. You can explore a bit further which is good.
Besides the chests you can find here, you can also pick up some Dire Beastbones from animal skeletons. These are used to upgrade your HQ so I recommend you grab them. The chest here gives you the Scallop Lunch Set Recipe which is really good.
Now, for a quick note, in here you can fight Phantombirds. These are the birds that drop the Sparklestone that Squash wants. Make sure to fight these Phantombirds until you get the item. It's a drop item and it has a relatively low drop rate.
And that's pretty much everything that we have for right now! Quite a long page with a lot to do! Before we proceed to our destination though, I highly recommend you visit The Seaside Cavern. This is the dungeon east of Hishahn. We cannot go through it entirely right now but monsters give a good chunk of XP and there are some good items. That's the page that follows.
Also, just for the record, you should be able to build a couple more facilities at your Castle Town, thanks to a couple of the allies we've picked up just recently. Note that BK may have already built them from the first section up above if he had recruited them earlier (be fluid here and build whatever you can!).
