He is Risen and oh what a joyous season! Easter and General Conference on the same glorious spring weekend! Just don’t know how it could get much better than that! Well maybe having family come visit and share the joy together! Now that is a winning combination!!! Chris’s siblings Ann, Phil and Liz arrived Wednesday evening and we hit the ground running. We packed a full schedule as we visited the historic sites, enjoyed being in the temple together, and savored every moment of General Conference! The rain and return of cold weather did not deter us as the spring flowers literally burst upon us! The tulips around the temple were a spectacular sight to behold! I have never witnessed the awakening of spring, the beauty of the earth’s renewal, and the promise of glorious days to come! How very beautiful to watch God’s handiwork unfold before our eyes! I am beginning to understand how people fall in love with the Midwest and never want to leave. The freezing weather is a small price to pay for such an incredible reward! Hard times and trials cause us to savor the good days just as the cold, bitter days help us appreciate the glorious spring weather!

May the memories of Easter, the sure promises of our Savior's atonement and resurrection, as well as the testimonies and teachings of General Conference lead us as followers “of Christ in a strait and narrow course across that everlasting gulf of misery which is prepared to engulf the wicked—

30 And land [our] souls, yea, [our] immortal souls, at the right hand of God in the kingdom of heaven, to sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and with Jacob, and with all our holy fathers, to go no more out.”
