Position selection is currently done via the crosshair and move / zoom.
An alternative and the previous way was to touch / drag the waypoints.
(but that was less precise?)


Currently indeed the context menus appear with long press on the map
or on the items: waypoints, route, bookmarks, markers, etc.

Some of these menus (that can be possible), could open with single tap.
Although need a setting(?), so users select which method prefer.


Do you mean that with single tap, the coordinates on the tap are used,
directly (without extra move / zoom) to the router?

There is an important difference: the "snap to road" is done by the router that knows the road network.

We can set waypoints anywhere, but the route calculation "later" will snap them on the nearest road.
