Hello,

i am using cruiser for the first time. I downloaded maps from openandromaps. I unzipped the Thüringen file and wanted to import the data with cruiser. Unfortunately there are no importable files in the folder. There are the subfolders andromaps_cycle, andromaps_mtb and others. And there is the file thueringen.map. How can I import a map. What do I have to do with the unzipped files?

Greetings,
PennyLane

Hi,

Vector maps usually have two components:
- A vector map file
- A render theme for the map rendering (that's a folder with xml and image resources)

To use the maps (and render themes) downloaded from OpenAndroMaps (check also the Elevate theme there):

- In Cruiser use the 1st 'Map' menu and the 'Open map' option.
There you can browse in your device file system and select the map file.
The map will open with a default render theme.

- If you want to render it with a downloaded render theme,
from the same 'Map' menu select the 'Open theme' option and browse / select the appropriate xml file.

Note: all these need to be unzipped completely in your device's storage.

Hello,

thank you very much for the fast reply. When I try to open the render theme andromaps_cycle.xml there is an error: "The selected file is invalid. unknown attribute(5) in element 'rendertheme': fill-sea-areas=0". How can I fix this?

Greetings,
PennyLane

I found out, what was the problem: I have to use the xml file from the folder OAM. I used the one from andromaps_cycle. The one from OAM worked.

Yes the Orux themes are the compatible ones.

I don't think these themes are maintained anymore (see here).

So you can try the Elevate theme for better results.

Preferably its SVG variant.

What does that mean "SVG variant"?

Check the above theme link.
There are various types of the Elevate theme.

One of them uses svg graphics (instead of png), so it's automatically scaled on current HD devices.
