Now, I like this thing alot. However, I have yet to be able to use it for what I bought it to use it for, which is recording. It needs ASOI drivers in order to be used an an A.I. correct? I've got it plugged up tp my PC, and my studio monitors, and I get sound, and the unit sounds good through the monitors, but can I just use it as is in Reaper? Or do I need the ASIO drivers? The info on the Line 6 site says I need the ASIO driver, but the only downloads I can find anywhere for Pod Go on the Line 6 website are the firmware updates, and updates for Pod Go Edit. Both of which are up to date at 1.30. Is it possible that I missed something, and the ASIO drivers are part of that download? Or is it something else all together? And if it is something different, where do I find it.
The drivers are included as part of the POD Go Edit installation package, so if you downloaded and installed that, you should have them. The POD Go should show up as one of audio devices you can select in Reaper if the drivers are installed.
You can also download the drivers on their own if you need to. You can select Drivers from the middle pulldown menu on the Downloads page, and they should show up. What operating system are you using?
I was thinking this was the case but wasn't sure. They should be clear about this. Maybe specifically add it to the page that explains everything that comes with an update. You know, where it says the bugs it fixes, the amps it adds on, and the effects, and provides descriptions. It would be sweet if somewhere in there, for laymen such as myself, they specifically stated in there somewhere "ASIO drivers for connectivity of Pod Go with a PC and required for use of Pod Go in DAWs are included as part of this update. Installing this update will install the ASIO drivers required for Pod Go to work with your computer as well, there is no need to go to ASIO4ALL or any other third party site in order to download ASIO drivers as they are part of this update." You know.... Something like that...
The installation procedure was streamlined and automated some time ago precisely so the user did not need to know or be concerned about the background details like multiple drivers and a separate update program. All you need to do is follow the simple instruction: Download and install the Pod Go Edit package. When you perform the installation you will see that all these components are installed.
A clear information in manual and description of the Pod Go Edit and Pod go drivers about how ASIO is handled would be more than appropriate and would help to avoid any troubleshooting initiatives in case there are issues with the interface (e.g. installing ASIO4all etc)
just reinstall the normal drivers again and ASIO will show up in your DAW. There isnt a special driver called ASIO so dont look for it. Looks like it's very much possible to have just "part" of the drivers installed (facepalm)
I'm using Samplitude Pro x6 on a Windows 11 PC and am having trouble with system set-up. I use Realtek Audio, Driver version 6.0.9285.1, which appears to have an ASIO component. When I try to select Realtek ASIO under Driver System, I get an error message that says "Realtek ASIO loading failed. No ASIO Driver error." However, my Realtek driver is up to date, and the ASIO component has been installed and appears to be activated. Thoughts?
If ASIO4ALL doesn't help you can still test the FL Studio ASIO driver (install the free FL Studio demo to get it) or the Steinberg Generic ASIO driver (install the free WaveLab Demo to get it. You can select in the installer to only install the driver).
The error message said "For software instruments realtime monitoring you have to activate the following options: ASIO driver system; ASIO software monitoring or FX monitoring; input monitoring (REC M)." It was in trying to follow these instructions that I shut all of the sound down. I'm now back to square 1 having restored the default settings. All of my issues relate to a single goal: adding percussion or instrumental effects to existing (fully mastered) .wav files. I'd hoped to do that to further my hobby, which is scoring choregraphed freestyles for horses. I don't create or produce any music; I just do rudimentary editing (e.g., changing tempo or pitch) of existing music tracks, and wanted to expand my tools a bit. Given my lack of music or sound production knowledge, it's been tough trying to Google my way to proficiency!
Same problem here.
Windows 11
Cubase 12
Focusrite 18i8
Everything used to be fine but all of a sudden; no sound, no activity on audio meters and the same message appears when I try to record. Reinstalled focusrite driver and cubase, no change. Focusrite tested with other stuff; working absolutely fine.
When using the ASIO4all driver, you may have to open that up and disable the kemper output and enable your pc audio for output (playback). I've only used the Kemper USB a few times so I don't remember every step I did. I went back to my Audio Interface because of ease of use.
The pics in the linked article use the KPA output too.
I've got Cubase talking to the KPA which is great. That's the important bit!
Thanks for your help. Hopefully the Kemper ASIO driver will be along sooner than later and will give us flexibility...
I've used both of those drivers when Kemper USB came out so I could have those two templates when I needed. My Motu interface has it's own driver and I get lower latency and can use a lower buffer size than with the others. I would assume a dedicated Kemper driver will allow lower latencies too over those two generic ones.
Now restart windows, and you will notice Sonar no longer uses that generic ASIO driver. It makes no difference for Cubase, because you should use the device ASIO driver in stead of a generic driver anyway. Problem solved.
The generic ASIO driver comes in play when there are no real ASIO driver ( onboard audio?), it wraps the wdm to use as ASIO.
Asio4all is another way of doing the same ( never use these hacks for any serious work)
Anyway, deleting the Steinberg Generic ASIO driver is not enough, but, going into the Regedit program as described took care of my problem with WL - and for that I am very grateful to you and your post!! Thank you!!
For the Second time, try ASIO4ALL. It will work with your RealTek. The only thing restricted here is your use of the Realtek driver. I use it on my PC when messing with Reaper, StudioOne, Cubase Elements.
I'm using labview 8.6.1 and would like to use my asio drivers with labview is this possible? I've installed asio4all hoping that it would show up as another device to choose from but wishful thinking.
yes I have done a search but all I find are comments on how to program a asio driver (which is beyond my skill set at the moment) or explinations on what might work....It would be nice to have a driver since so many people have been asking for this for so long. I searhced online and found the asio4all driver but not sure if there is a direct way to link it to labview.
I fell for another upgrade sale and upgraded Vegas Plat 14 to 17 last night. It also includes an upgrade to Sound Forge 14. But I forgot this and just like Steinberg , Magix installs a crappy ASIO driver that completely takes over your audio system. Apparently the Magix driver is based on asio4all so we all know how it is also invasive.
I looked this up by googling "How to uninstall Magix ASIO driver" and documents go way back to 2009 etc. This issue has been around forever. There is no uninstaller for this driver which is real stupid seeing how much havoc it has caused over time judging by the comments on many audio forums. There's even a few on the Cakewalk forum. But there's no solution that worked for me.
I have Magix Vegas Pro 16 installed, and the entry listed in the Control Panel Uninstall a Program list, does not appear to be the ASIO driver, but rather, some other component. Here is a screenshot of what shows up on my system, for it:
If anyone needs a Generic Audio Driver, I recommend Steinberg's. That one allows you to share the audio device with other Applications, at the expense of a bit more latency. MAGIX uses ASIO4ALL, which locks your audio driver.
I am going to fire a email off to Magix and complain. All they need to do is offer the driver as an option as well as build it properly with an uninstaller like 99% of the software in the world has. To bad Sony sold the software to them.
Correct, but some software stitll doesn't work optimally without ASIO and if you have to round trip or use them while using Cakewalk you are better off just using a Generic Driver instead of WASAPI. Otherwise, you run into device ownership issues when switching applications - when using Generic ASIO drivers that lock the audio device. If you do everything within Cakewalk, then that is not an issue.
I've had no problem using the ASIO drivers for my PreSonus or TASCAM interfaces. Based on scook's post I checked on the driver situation, and the Magix and Steinberg drivers are both installed. Maybe I'll remove them and see if that has any beneficial effects.
