Jeff,

It sounds like you may have a conflict of ownership preventing you from changing permissions. Something similar happened during my setup, I could change the permissions, but they would revert to the original settings. I was able to resolve this by using chown command to change ownership of the problematic files/directories. If you are unable (or unfamiliar) to use chown commands, your host should be able to recursively set ownership of them so that you have control over permissions.

Regards,

Gary

Subject: [viele-dev] cron issues

Hi,

I have a cron job set to automate my downloads, but I have noticed a couple of problems that appear to relate to permissions. First, the last run date and time does not update in the batch control files when run from cron, but updates p roperly when downloading from the gui interface. Second, cron updates of existing listing images seems to be failing. New images are written OK.

Permissions on the batch control files and on the images is 644, and any attempt to change those to anything less restrictive fails. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Thanks,

Jeff

Gary,

Thanks.  I'll give that a try.
