Trouble getting data into mysql database

Hi All,

Glad I've found you guys.

I'm trying out vieleRETS and have successfully installed the client on
my local Mac OS 10.5.8 machine running MAMP with php 5 and mysql
5.1.37 (whew!).

I'm able to connect and query the test database however no luck
getting the data into mySQL yet.

This is the error that I'm receiving:

Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through
socket '/var/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/
vieleRETS/common/adodb5/drivers/adodb-mysql.inc.php on line 382

Can anyone help on this one?
