This should be in text mode :)

Is there a way to run a single batch to bring in all the agents listings and correctly populate them in an OR database? Or should I say 4, COMM,RESI, etc. but do all the agents at once.

If I do import them all they show up under"no-one" in the database. I can import them seperately but that seems like a lot of excess, not to mention what if a new agent comes along?

I am using ver. 1.1.7 because I had too many issues with the 1.8

Thanks!

Randy-

When I combine more than one agent it seems to just put all the properties in a wierd category, all by themself. Are you goung off the MLS id or Agent ID in the extract?

Jared-

Well I was just working on swapping ID and MLS #, I will have to look at how your featured listings work, I was even thinking randomly for now. I havnt gotten to the point of having fun with add-ons, except I think your PDF one maybe? Either way I have looked at CSV and have tons of info but automating the process gave me fits, so I went with Viele any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest that you specify the agent id in your query to pull the
listings in just for those agents. You will have to do a download for each
type of property though, Residential, Land, Commercial etc.

I was hoping some one could clarify since I can at least download listings.

How many batches do I have to run with 2 agents? Can I do just 4 and pull both agents data correctly into the OR database. Or will I need 8 one for each agent AND property type?

Thanks!

There is a way to do this but not with vieleRETS as the primary tool for
populating the data. In 90% of those situations I use vieleRETS I do so
from the servers root where we host many different sites for different
markets and what I prefer to do is use vieleRETS to just download CSV
files. Agents, Listings, Photo URLs etc. Then its much easier to handle
the updates in either OpenRealty or the Joomla listings manager titled
EZRealty (not quite as nice as OpenRealty)

The process goes like this;

1) Download the data in CSV format
2) Build a script to populate the OR Database
3) In that script have it require a file called agents.csv
4) As it processes it will match agents with those in the OpenRealty
database and set them to featured if it encounters them or not featured.

What I generally do when it comes to OpenRealty is set the actual
OpenRealty listingID to the MLS Number. The reason why is my free addon
allows you to specify which listings are featured for display a little
different than the OR method. It makes it easier to manage MLS data in
OpenRealty.

Your situation isn't uncommon its just that you may be trying to load
the data directly into OpenRealty which isn't always the ideal.

I can share some code with you if you need help.
