No joy using the settings specified. I tried both Post and Get requests.

Try "MRIS Conduit" in the Application Name and "1.1" (or version) in Application Version.

The response I received from RealTrac is:

>From the RETS spec:

-----------------------
The HTTP header of any messages sent from the client MUST contain
User-Agent. This header field contains information about the user agent
originating the request. All client requests MUST include this field.

This is a standard HTTP header field as defined in RFC 2616.
Example: User-Agent: CMAZilla/4.00
-----------------------

Your VieleRETS client will need a way to supplant the one it is sending
by default. Not sure what it is sending or how to change the value in
the VieleRETS client code. But, I'm sure it is sending some UserAgent
value. However, it must be the one we provided to you.

So now the question is back to how to I provide the UserAgent that RealTrac provided me?

Try putting your User-Agent and version (provided by RealTrac) in the
Application Name and leave the Application Version blank

e.g I can combine them " Application Name MRIS Conduit/1.1
(or I can enter them separately. Both work for me)

where MRIS Conduit is the User-Agent and 1.1 is the version. It worked
for me, but the clue was understanding that Application Name in
Vielerets is the User-Agent

As per the previous example I have seen where it needed to be entered-

"MRIS Conduit/1" in the Application Name and "1" (or version) in Application Version.

I am surprised they didnt help walk you through it as I have also seen a completely different set of login information assigned than what was given.

I would suggest calling them to make sure.

"So now the question is back to how to I provide the UserAgent that RealTrac provided me?"

You should be able to enter that on the Create A Source Page

I contacted them before I submitted my original message to this board. They were unable to help me stating they were unfamiliar with the VieleRET client.

I was able to get connected after setting application name to the UserAgent for my account and setting the version to blank.

Thanks for all of the help and hopefully the information above will be useful to someone else.

Jim
