Some 68 business rescue commencements have been recorded. I am unsure whether these are the voluntarily section 129 filings at CIPRO only, or whether these would include compulsory section 131 court orders too.
CIPRO is in a strat session for the next two days so it is unlikely that anyone would be able to contact them for filings or BRP issues over the next two days. I found the CIPRO people to be very helpful, dedicated and professional. Clearly, the organisational structure and systems are very new and the website has not changed since inception on 1 May, hence the low level of awareness about how BR works at CIPRO.
So what I really wish to share with you is that TMA-SA has provisionally lined up the BR people at CIPRO including the acting Commissioner to talk to us about the status of Chapter 6 implementation, the process of filing, the process for appointing BRPs on interim licenses, etc.
Although the date and venue is not final, and please don’t hold me to it, you may wish to pencil in Wednesday 20 July 9 – 11 probably at Eversheds Attorneys in Fredman Drive.
Non-members will be invited too including BASA, SAICA, LSSA, AiPSA, etc.
CIPRO is deciding only tomorrow Tuesday morning on the date for the industry talk, if at all (re the status of Chapter 6 implementation, the process of filing, the process for appointing BRPs on interim licenses, etc.).
It follows that the provisional date of Wednesday 20 July will not be attainable.
Our best expectation is Thursday 4 August – the new date that we requested. But let’s wait for the official news tomorrow.
Best regards
