Hello all,

Earlier today I was out in the Latham area performing some frequency searches on my PRO-97 receiver.  Among the various logging that I had made was this one.  If I had to guess, it more than likely is an illegal operation but I DONT know this for sure.

151.940 MHz.  /  Carrier Squelch  /  Simplex

Base to mobile operations.  Able to monitor both sides of conversation.  Very informal conversation between two men.  Lots of four letter words and profanity, sounded more like CB traffic.  Believe that both stations are located in Rensselaer County.  The mobile was on his way to work and was making comments about the traffic along Route 43 and the recent bridge work on Interstate 90.  Mobile was irritated with traffic as he was going to work and was worried about being late.  Comment also made that he didn't have to be at the corner of River & Front until 4:30 PM.  Discussion also about trucks.

Now, I know that 151.940 is one of the five MURS channels.  License free operation is permitted but only at one watt.  If both stations were running one watt, I don't believe I would have heard them over here in Latham.  Both stations came in very well as a matter of fact.  I did a check of the FCC database and I couldn't find any licenses for this frequency.
