Hello Aluísion
Thank you for keeping this project alive and the new builds.
I'm using Chromium Portable on XP 32bit, with keys I created and wrote in ChromiumPortable.ini, all OK.
I use version 31.0.1650.8 as it's the last version with NPAPI support I need for certain extensions.

I notice one problem: the internal Translate function doesn't work at all.
This is a japanese page. When right-clicking the page, on the context menu i do: "Translate to English".
The translate bar appears at the top saying "Translating page to English..." and everything seem to go fine.
But the translation never shows up, the page is still in Japanese after the process..

I tried with many japanese pages, and non-english pages, it never works.

I tried with your latest build 37.0.2017.2 thinking it could be a problem with 31.0.1650.8, no change, it's still broken!

Is it working Ok on your side? If so, what is required for Translate to work?
I'm thinking Translation not working is maybe linked to the dev keys I created, that could be lacking support for some API needed for Translation?

Please let me know.
Thank you very much for your support,

TSR

It seems to work on some pages but not on others.
I'll try to find out what's going on.

Thanks for your reply, Aluisio.
I couldn't find any pages for which it works so I'm quite surprised !
Could you link any exemple that works for you [with the native translator] ?

Sorry for keeping this for so long.
If it indeed doesn't work for any pages, I guess you might be right wrt missing APIs.  Could you please try updating your keys or create a new one?  These are the APIs active for mine:
  • Chrome Remote Desktop API
  • Chrome Spelling API
  • Chrome Suggest API
  • Chrome Sync API
  • Chrome Translate Element
  • Safe Browsing API
  • Speech API

Aluisio, thanks for checking this out.

Is the built-in translation feature working for you, with your current key?

I've tried everything I can possibly think of, it just won't work.

Another exemple site:

With regular Chrome, built-in translation works perfectly.

But with Chromium Portable, nothing, it says it has translated it, but the page remains unchanged..

Please test on your side, thank you.

Yes. I even tested the link you sent in a fresh profile, with only the API keys set.
Can you confirm the languages it's translating from and to (under Options in the translate bubble)?

I've tried everything I can possibly think of, it just won't work.
I am guessing this is some kind of network issue.  I'll find a way to log the API requests and responses.

Ok!! Finally it is fixed and working for me ;D
What I did was just delete the project completely, created a new one and generated a new key.

I have no clue why my previous key didn't work, I did nothing different for this new working key..

Anyway the issue is solved, thank you very much for your support Aluisio!

You're welcome.
I should have delved into this way earlier, in fact.  Thanks for keeping pushing me.
