Sunspots 2827 and 2828 (lower). Not much happening in the way of prominences.

Lunt 60 500mm/f8.3, ZWO asi178 mono, best 10% of 500 frames stacked and colour added to approximate visual view.

I saw some small prominences this morning about noon.  Nothing special.

But a lovely day for it James, nonetheless and a very nice image.

Thanks very much Tim. Yes, it was good to see the end of January at last!

Very nice image James. The sun is very quiet lately. I occasionally look in white light but rarely see any activity.

Thanks very much Trevor.  The Sun is supposed to be in the upward cycle of activity but no real sign of it.  I'm hoping the partial solar eclipse next next Thursday is at least visible (sitting here listening to the rain falling after two hot days!)

Very nice James, technically a good and pleasing image; now all it can do with is some features, but... At least you've reminded us that the Sun is still up there. Thanks for sharing, William

Thanks very much William.  The weather seems to have gone back to cloudy unfortunately, but I'm hoping it will see sense for this Thursday's eclipse.
