As well known, JWST's first science images are scheduled for release on 12 July.  There are a number of useful links here that may be of interest, including a time countdown and where the images will be found, live if you want.  Scroll down to the July 1 blog post.

This is a taster, an engineering test of the guidance system stability, published on Wednesday, based on 32 hours of observations in monochrome, converted to false colour.  A very high percentage of the objects is galaxies, with just "a handful of stars".  Black dots are over saturation.
