Couple of nights ago I captured the Pacman nebula.
First attempt had issues with camera dew over. Now that I got a heater on my camera, decide to have another go. Accusation time around 8.5 hrs
Heq5 mount
Horizon 714mm ed refractor.
Zwo924 camera and Lenhance filter.
Sky around bottle sky 4
Process on startools and photoshop
Came out better than I thought. Thank you fir viewing.

Hi Kevin

That’s a really good image. Great colour and detail. It’s not a target I have tried to image before, but definitely worth a try I think!

Well done

Hello Kevin
Yes, as Tim says that has good colour and detail, nice small stars once again showing good focus and guiding. Well worth another go at it.
It’s nice and high in the sky, less atmosphere to get in the way, and at just larger than the moon it’s not a struggle for detail. It’s also one of the brighter ones, though a bit of a struggle optically unless in a dark sky.

The Bortle dark-sky scale has 9 levels to measure the amount of light pollution. 0-1 is about as good as it gets, whilst inner city 8-9 will be suitable for the solar system and bright star clusters only, and for the latter certainly won’t be seen at their best. I believe the skies at our Norman Fisher Observatory at Kenley is about 5, though I think 20 years ago it may have been closer to 4. The Milky way can be seen at Kenley, at least to the extent that you can see where it is.

Thank you for sharing.
