Weather for tonight, above and to the northwest, looks good. I use 7 forecasters, they are not all going to agree, but on that I'm going to the Addington Hills viewpoint tonight to again try my luck.
Sunset at 9:15 pm (I'll be there for that) Venus visible before then, Jupiter shortly afterwards, Mercury from about 10 pm, depending on whether using a camera or binoculars.
Attached is a skychart, courtesy of skyandtelescope S&T. I suspect this is for the US latitudes so we'll need to twist it slightly anticlockwise for us.
This distance and direction of the brighter planets will be the best guide to locating Mercury.
Mercury will be highest on Monday 15th, not many days to see; it really doesn't like to hang about.
