This is the Witched broom stick take from few night ago from  my back garden. 300 sec x 60 lights.

Equipment 

Horizon 714mm refractor

L enhance filter

Zwo2600cp-u 

Heq5 stellar drive. Rowan belt

Guided. 

Nice clear night, bortle 4 skies.

Hi Kevin

That is a great image, bringing out the super fine delicate filaments very well.  (Interestingly, Wikipedia says each of these filaments is actually 4 billion miles across, roughly the distance from Earth to Pluto!).

Taking the stars out certainly helps reveal the amazing detail, but there's a trade off, as losing the prominent Cygnus 52 in particular leaves an obvious visual hole in the image and also it takes away the striking contrast it makes with the super nova remnants.  There is a case for doing this, as the star is a line of sight artefact, not a part of the nebula.  On the other hand, star reduction rather than complete removal is a way of eating the cake and having it.
