Crowdsourcing, a way of raising funds through the internet, has become a lifeline for people with causes. The HeartSoul Ekonomia Institute is hoping that this method of raising capital will help them provide household management classes, slated to begin in Fall, 2012, to women. The classes help women learn skills to better manage their households using tools and principles normally used for corporate entitites. The hardest business issue that HSEKI has faced is getting the word out with virtually no advertising budget, while trying to find ways to solicit for content for its magazine, the PraxisQuarterly Literary Review. In tough economic times, one must cast the net wide in order to maximize results. But this can be expensive, and for a small start-up, it seemed impossible.
