Hi All,

My Project on jQuery based Gene Canvas Layout is hosted here - http://184.72.31.75:8000/gene/v2/1017/

I have most of the Development covered, with a few functionalities remaining - Loading/Saving Layouts and some Graphical issues that need to be sorted out at the earliest - which are caused by the usage of 2 jquery libraries. There are a few bugs that need to be cleared out - but as of now, its fully functional.

As for the project page above, the Search box displays results through AJAX and as the results are clicked, the iframes/layouts are updated with the geneid/name/symbol of the corresponding gene. The search box has a maxheight of 250px - which can be toggled up & down as per the need of the User. (I wasnt sure about having a whole bar as a toggling button or a button inside the layout panel - so please neglect the Show/Hide Panel button for the time being). The Result currently shows only Human & Mouse genes.

The two dropdown menus have different options of switching the various layouts and further functions of Refreshing, Opening windows & Tiling windows in various orders.
The Plugin Search has been implemented, searching for various layouts corresponding to the selected gene.

The windows displayed after selection of the gene are jQuery powered, and even though the windows might have some issues while dragging/resizing around, but all that will be sorted out once I integrate a couple of jquery libraries that I am using in the project, rather than depending on GoogleAPI CDN's.

There are a few bugs that need to be worked out which I'll clear out in time.

I also came across the mousetrap API, sent out by Benjamin - which I would like to implement in my project too - if there is some time left in the project (or afterwards) - if agreed by Ian.

Kindly let me know what you all think.

Thank You.
Regards,

This is a good start Shivansh. Going forward let's re-focus our efforts on cleaning up the graphical bugs and refining the window functionality like we discussed.
