to Crowdsourcing and Human Computation
Dear HCOMP community,
I wish I had posted here earlier, but I just discovered this list!

We have an amazing CI'25 event planned for next month in La Jolla, CA. There will be plenty of research talks on human computation and crowdsourcing, and quite an exceptional line-up of plenary talks:
- Cory Doctorow is a blogger, journalist, and science fiction author who will talk about the enshittification of the internet and what we can do about it.
- Dr. Michael Levin, Vannevar Bush Distinguished biologist at Tufts, argues that all intelligence is collective intelligence and will discuss how individual parts solve local goals at all levels of our biology.
- Dr. Adam Kalai, research scientist at OpenAI, will talk about human feedback in reinforcement learning to improve safety and fairness.
- Dr. Kate Starbird, Professor of Human Centered Design & Engineering at UW, will talk about how misinformation and rumors spread and how to frame this as collective sensemaking.
- Dr. Niki Kittur, Professor in the HCI Institute at CMU, will share his recent research on "composite intelligence" and his new initiative on Supercharging Innovation
- Dr. Melissa Valentine, Professor in Management Science at Stanford, will share insights on AI in Organizations, and will also announce a new Grand Challenge by Stanford HAI and Google DeepMind.

You can register and see more details on the website:  https://ci.acm.org/2025/
