Dear Colleagues,

The Human Computation Institute (HCI) seeks to fill TWO remote-work positions to support interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of citizen science, data science, and human-AI collaboration.

POSITION 1: Research Associate and Data Scientist.  This is a remote position at a mission-driven nonprofit. We’re looking for an independent thinker with strong Python and Jupyter skills, excellent communication ability, and comfort working in a flexible, evolving environment. The role blends data analysis, scientific writing, and research coordination, with initial responsibilities focused on projects related to biomedical research and collaborative problem-solving.

POSITION 2: Outreach Coordinator.  We’re looking for an engaging communicator and strategic community builder with a fun personality to help grow and support our volunteer and partner networks across multiple HCI initiatives, while representing community perspectives back to the team.

HCI is a small, high-trust organization where team members work autonomously toward shared goals. We prioritize strategic impact, collaborative culture, and scientific purpose over rigid structures or formalities.

More about these roles and our organization is included in the attached documents. If you or someone you know is looking for a meaningful role at the edge of citizen science, AI, and innovation, we’d love to hear from you.

Kind regards,
Pietro Michelucci
