Hi all...I just completed building my first Crow Box and I am wondering about how weather proof the design really is and I am hoping people can provide some feedback.

It seems like the coin box on top would allow water to fall on the electronics. I am planning on putting the sled in upside down but am wondering if there are other strategies.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi Brandon:

I actually have my coin box taped over - for a variety of reasons.  But I just throw a few quarters on the lid so they have their choice of quarters for the Phase 3 action.

I find I still get some leakage.  I put my electronics in a ziploc bag and routed the wires through them, having it rest on the sled.  Makes it a little more tough to manage the wiring if I need to troubleshoot, but certainly protects it a bit more.

Good luck!

Congratulations on the build! The crowbox isn't really weatherproof. I had my sealed up pretty well especially in phase 1 since the electronics didn't really need to be running and the Arduino still got pretty weathered. I did design a 3D printed cover to slide over the
entire coin magazine. I think that helped a lot. I would recommend following Todd.s advice of the plastic bag and all. Maybe put in some Desiccant Packs too.
Thanks,
Michael
