Hi all,

Not sure if any of you read last week’s Gazette, but a letter from a reader caught my attention. In it, this man wrote that while he was driving around the back of (Croton) Shop Rite, he noticed big sacks of plastic bags—those placed by shoppers into the recycling bin at front of the store—on top of the garbage dumpster awaiting trash pickup. I’ve long suspected this is what happens to the plastic bags I diligently collect and drop off in these kinds of bins! Does anyone know if the town collects plastic bags for recycling, or another way to dispose of them for recycling? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
