Hey everyone,

1.) JVS - Just wanted to set a day for meeting with our Burmese families next week.  Does Wednesday work?

2.) Last night -Also, we crammed a lot into last night's Bible study. Generally that's good; I want us to be in the Bible more as a group.  But we may have missed a bit on depth because of the speed. Next time we'll tackle a smaller chunk.  As for now, I'd really encourage you to look into the Passage on your own.  Consider this:

For people who are constantly being convinced to pursue a safe and useless life, these verses are an assault, and an encouragement to live like the Gospel is real and potent.

Love you and praying for us,
Steven

For us, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday night would work best.  Has anyone heard more info about the ESL classes at Eleos?

Sorry, scratch that... Tuesday and Thursday don't work.  Friday may work, but please don't change all plans due to us.  I can pass on some teaching supplies to you all if you want to teach an English lesson.  :)

Yeah, I haven't really planned a lesson yet.  lol  So, here's the website for the lessons that I was planning to start using--  http://curriculumproject.org/english-teaching-materials
GROUP 1:
All of the students already have page 1 and 2 from the first link (modules 1-6 student book).

1. Review alphabet from last week-  saying it is enough
2. Review "Introductions" -- Jose probably remembers the schpiel- "Hi, My name is.... What's your name? Where are you from?  I'm from ...  Nice to meet you!  Nice to meet you, too!"
3.  Start new lesson using page 1 and 2  OR make your own.  I don't care!  You are welcome to be creative.  :)

GROUP 2:
Pweh Moo, Lah Ber, and Paw Shee are all advanced and need a little more input.  I have a reading lesson that I can scan and send you to have someone teach them.  Just have them read it silently, read it out together, and answer the questions together. You'll have to teach some of the vocabulary words.  Be creative, draw pictures, etc.  It will be great!

GROUP 3:
Can't remember her name-- she was an older woman sitting next to Steve.  She's going to need to practice writing some more.  She's the true beginner.  I have a little dry erase ABC book for her to practice during the lesson.
I have my little dry erase boards and supplies that I can hand off to someone to take that night.

Let me know if this makes sense or if you need for clarification!  If anyone want to find Youtube videos, download them and show them... there are tons.

We can't commit completely yet. Jose is working an overnite on Tues. and Wed. and I'm on a location shoot Wed. so it may not work out for us, unless I can arrange something for Max.  I will try to let you know by Wed. morning if we are coming or not.
thanks!

It looks like Jose and I will probably make it after all!  Jose is planning to meet us there, but I would like to carpool.  Will we be meeting at your house beforehand to carpool?

Thanks!
Erin

Hope that doesnt cause any conflicts.

Hello Friends,

As some of you may know, I have been dealing with chest  pain, mostly my lungs. I had a CT scan today and found a 4mm nodule in my right lung. The docs think its benign (non malignant). It was a relief knowing that, at the same time it was sad news to me. I will need to follow up with appropriate doctors...etc to make certain it is not.
I need prayers for this matter please. It seems as if I ask for prayer quite often from you all, but they are powerful and they do work!
I have been asking the Lord to work in my life and get me closer to him somehow, I feel as if I haven't been as he wanted me to be lately, and I think he is working through this trial to be glorified.

I am hoping this nodule is noncancerous and things are OK!

Thanks guys!

Thanks for sharing with us. Of course we will pray for you. As you said not only for your lungs but that God would use this challenging situation to draw you near to him.

Peace.

Dear Mary,

We love you and we will be praying. Also, if we can help in any way - bringing dinner, watching Amira, or just need to hang out with a friend - just let us know. I am off school this week, so please let me know if you need anything in addition to prayers.

We love you so much,

Hello all,

Giving you a brief update of my situation.
I am still struggling with some pain in my lungs, but not as bad. I seen my family Physician and was referred to a Pulmonologist. I will be taking an appointment to see the specialist soon. So far the doctors I have talked to are guessing this is a benign nodule. I will feel better if it is confirmed with an additional exam or maybe a biopsy.
Will keep you posted. Thank you so much for praying for me.

I love you all!
