Dear Yemi,

Thanks for your suggestion, I think its a good idea but we do not have a resource person yet on the topic however more than twenty of our members have signed up as Voter Education Volunteers and should receive  training soon on the issue.
We can also source for support together to do a training on it.
Best Regards,

Good day!
It would be great if there's a session on voter education in the conference program.
We must collectively ensure that the civil society network in Cross River has the necessary information to share with citizens to ensure they are equipped to vote & protect their votes.

Dear Ben and the Team,
I salute your courage to move on with this idea.
Is so unfortunte that I am currently out of the country and will not return until after the event.
I would have love to support this process.
However, following from Yemi's comment on Voter's Education, since there is no money to hire a resource person, I think what we can do at this time is to leverage on existing resources.
So I will suggest the network write officially to INEC  or National Orientation Agency Cross River state,  thier focal person on voters education can conduct this training as it is part of thier mandate.
You can equally request for some voters education manual from INEC and election bodies like UNDP and NDI, IFES and IRI.

I hope you if you can approach them immediately something might work out for your good.
Thanks

Dear Comrade Edem,

Am very encouraged by your support to us. Your initiative as the then Coordinator of CISHAN CRS to organise a Civil Society Summit on HIV/AIDs here in Calabar was very inspiring.

Its been tough planning this event without funding but am sure it will set the pace for future conferences of the our Network.
We already have several confirmed  speakers  from here in Calabar, Port Harcourt and Lagos despite our shortcomings.

I was actually thinking you were back in the Country already. It would have been a delight if you attended the confab.
I have invited the Resident Commissioner of INEC to the conference but not in a training capacity. I would have immediately taken on your suggestion if not that we are now out of time.Actually, I also think that a Conference is more of discussions than training. we will however be discussing issues on a credible 2015 Elections.

I also have invited the Department of Orientation and Public Affairs and they will be represented by their Director of Orientation.
I guess what we can do is to plan for a Voter Education training in January next year leveraging on the organisations you have recommended. Thanks

Best Wishes,

BEN USANG
