Job Title: Database Administrator
Number of Openings: 3
Required Skills/Background
· Minimum of 5+ consecutive years experience in a DBA role – Oracle has priority over other RDBMS experience.
· Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams and external clients
· Experience meeting hard project and assignment deadlines
Tools/Technologies:
· UNIX shell scripting/programming
· C/C++ or PERL or Java programming
· UNIX systems administration and tuning
· HP-UX, AIX, Linux, Solaris, and Tru64 (at least 3 of the 5)
· Hardware:
Understanding of basic hardware architectures;
Understands servers, memory,
I/O subsystems, tape backups;
Applies knowledge to basic sizing and
configuration knowledge;
Understands basic storage principles like
RAID and SANs
· Database:
Oracle
DBA
(SE,EE); MySQL DBA ; MSSqlServer; IBM DB2 UDB;
Knowledge of at least two
different database technologies;
Understanding of how a database
interacts with the operating system, server, and storage;
Basic database
tuning understanding
· Familiar with Database Monitoring and Event Notification tools
· Familiar with Security and how to share a database in multi-tenant environments
