Hi folks - here's a great event sponsored by VT State Parks and Cross VT Trail Association that will definitely be worth attending.  Great short hike, appropriate for families with children.

Sunday, January 1, 2011: First Day Hike - Kettle Pond State Park, Marshfield, VT (download event Flyer)

• Location: Kettle Pond Parking Area, Groton State Forest, Rte 232, Marshfield, VT
• Time: 11:00 AM
• Details: Hike will be 1 hr +/-, easy to moderate terrain on park trails. Start off your New Year's resolutions on the right foot by getting outdoors and being active on the first day of 2012! We hope you'll join us for a free family hike. Remember to dress for the weather, bring snowshoes (if there’s snow), and bring your own beverages/ snacks. Dogs are welcome on a leash, and most importantly, have fun!
