Al-Bukhari traveled widely throughout the Abbasid empire from the age of 16, collecting those traditions he thought trustworthy. It is said that al-Bukhari collected over 300,000 hadith and included only 2,602 traditions in his Sahih.
At the time when Bukhari saw [the earlier] works and conveyed them, he found them, in their presentation, combining between what would be considered sahih (correct) and hasan (good) and that many of them included daʻīf (weak) hadith.

Sahih Al Bukhari is a collection of Hadith by Abu Abdullah Mohammed Ibn Ismail Bukhari. He was born on 13 Shawal, 193 Hijri. An avid traveler to search, identify and declare authentic hadith, he had traveled to Baghdad, Syria, Kufa and Egypt.
Imam Bukhari started his journey into the world of Hadith from a very young age. Amongst his finest Fadhl of Allah, was his sharp memory through which he had memorised around 2000 hadith before he reached his mid teens. He could recall a Hadith from memory even if he heard it once. Before Imam Bukhari wrote his Jami al Sahih (The collection of authentic) he wrote two books- "Qadhāyas-Sahābah wa at-Tābi'īn" and "Tārikh al-Kabīr." (The history of the great Narrators) which is now published in 9 volumes (Arabic).
Muḥammad ibn Ismail al bukhari , commonly alluded to as Imam al Bukhari or Imam Bukhari was an Islamic researcher and compiler who was born in Bukhara (the capital of the Bukhara Locality of what is presently in Uzbekistan). Imam al Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) was a great imam, scholar, leader in sahih hadith. He is known to be born in the Shawwal of 194 AH, and reportedly grew up as orphan. He started considering hadith in the year 205 (A.H.). He memorized the works of Abdullah ibn al-Mubaarak even though he was still a child. He was raised by his mother since his father passed on when he was a newborn child.
He traveled with his mother and brother within the year 210 after having listened the portrayals of his locale. He started writing books and describing hadith whereas he was still pre-adult. He compiled the hadis collection known as Sahih al Bukhari. Bukhari hadith collection is respected by Muslims as the foremost true sahih hadith collections. He composed other books such as Al-Adab al-Mufrad as well.
He memorized hadeeth as a child. Imam Bukhari was blessed with an astounding good memory. The hadis collected by Imam Bukhari came to be know as sahih al bukhari. On this page you can find 7328 sahih hadith online of sahih bukhari in english. The Bukhari Hadith is known as the most authentic of any hadees online or offline. Sahih Bukhari is the most trusted book in this world after the Quran that is the Book of Allah ﷻ. Imam Bukhari devoted a large part of his life to hadith, and he travelled in search of hadees and worked extremely hard in that field to work on his sahih hadis, until he became the best at it.
An interesting story from the life of Imam Bukhari goes as follows. On one of Imam bukhari's trip back to Baghdad, the scholars of Baghdad decided to test Imam al-Bukhari on his memory of Hadees. About ten scholars narrated ten different hadis. They verbally explained the matn, or the text of every hadith, as well as its chain of narrators to Imam al Bukhari of the Sahih al Bukhari. However, the chain they recited were purposely altered to confuse the Bukhari. After listening to all 100 hadees, the Imam narrated each of the mixed up chains of narration in proper chronological order, pointed out the flaws, and recited the corrected version to those who tried to test him.
Al-Muhadith Maulana Ahmad Ali Saharanpuri رحمه الله تعالى telah mengkaji makhtutat/manuskrip asal Sahih Al-Bukhari iaitu:
Sahih Bukhari mempunyai 70 kitab menurut terjemahan Ahmad Sunarto dkk. Sedangkan menurut terjemahan M. Muhsin Khan, 93 kitab.[17] Hal ini terjadi akibat beberapa perbezaan dalam pembahagian kitab. Misalnya Kitab Solat menurut terjemahan Ahmad Sunarto dkk[8] terhitung sebagai dua kitab dalam terjemahan M. Muhsin Khan, iaitu Book of Prayers (Salat) dan Book of Virtues of the Prayer Hall (Sutra of the Musalla).[17]
