Clayton,

I got a hold of NetBeans 6.0 (Mac OS X 10.5, Java 1.5) and built the
application. It took a bit of tinkering to get the hsqldb and javacsv
JAR files in the right places but after that no problems with the
build and run.

When I'm in the CropDB section the New button works, I see the new
window and all its fields. But what are the New buttons supposed to do
in the CropPlans section? I click them and nothing happens.

There is a wiki page describing the initial startup process:

In brief: you have to enter a text string in the upper left combobox
and click the "new" next to that box. That creates a new plan for you
to populate w/ new plantings (via the other "new" buttons).

I'm working on ideas to streamline this startup process. All ideas
are welcome.
