AnyDesk can be run in portable mode (uninstalled) or installed on all major desktop-based operating systems. See Portable vs. Installed for some differences between the portable and installed versions.

EXE: The executable file version of AnyDesk can be used while uninstalled as well as installed. To install the .EXE version of AnyDesk, simply start the AnyDesk program then click the link contained in the orange "Install AnyDesk" tile.

A) The full installation installs both the AnyDesk client as well as the AnyDesk Services which is required to use features such as being able to connect to the macOS AnyDesk client while the user account has been switched or logged out of. To do full installation, simply double-click the AnyDesk application in the DMG, then click the orange "Install Now" tile in the main AnyDesk window and accept the Terms and Conditions.

B) On the other hand, the portable installation only installs the AnyDesk client. To do so, simply drag & drop the AnyDesk application within the .DMG file to the Applications folder on the macOS device.

Warning: Please note that the portable installation will not install the global AnyDesk Service. This means that features such as the ability to connect to the AnyDesk client after a restart or if the remote user has logged out will not be available.

C) The PKG installer is only available for custom clients. Like the Windows MSI installer package, it cannot be used in portable mode, and running it will install both the client as well as the global AnyDesk Service.

For specific situations where older versions of AnyDesk are required, our archived repositories are also available (Archived DEB Repository, Archived RPM Repository). Please note that these AnyDesk versions are no longer supported at this time.

If using a Linux distribution that is no longer supported by AnyDesk (RHEL/CentOS 6, Debian 8, Ubuntu 16.04), the last version that is available for these operating systems is AnyDesk 5.0.0 for Linux and older. While they are no longer supported, they are available for download at

Compressed folders in the .TAR.GZ file format are also available. These folders, once unpacked, contain the portable AnyDesk client. Installing the AnyDesk clients contained in the .TAR.GZ folders is not supported at this time.

It is important to run these commands in the correct path AnyDesk is located in or to specify the correct path manually.

By default, standard AnyDesk clients from anydesk.com are installed in the following location:C:\Program Files (x86)\AnyDesk\AnyDesk.exe

I am trying to install Anydesk in ubuntu mate 64 bit 20.04 LTS running in Raspberry Pi 4 4GB model and I am new to Linux operating system. I tried downloading Anydesk for linux and Raspberry Pi from the Anydesk website but when tried installing with package installer both ended up with an error saying wrong architecture. Can anyone please guide me how to install...

I finally figured out how to install Anydesk/Team Viewer in Raspberry Pi running Ubuntu Mate. All you need to do is just add other architecture like "armhf" or "i 386" both should work, well I had download the armhf.deb file so I add the armhf cross platform to the repository and updated it, then it is standard installation process just by clicking on the downloaded file and install it.

In order to add cross platform repository open terminal and I entered
" sudo dpkg --add-architecture armhf " for armhf and press enter
And for i386 type " sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386 " then press enter
After this you have to update the repository by typing
"sudo apt-get update" followed by
"sudo apt-get upgrade"
Then you can easily install any packages or software you wanted to which are supported.

If you install ubuntu-mate 64bit, I believe you need the arm64 package for anydesk. Unfortunately there are lots of software that do not support the architecture yet. You may have to use a different program for now.

Ok. Thanks for replying,
I was thinking if I download ubuntu supported 64bit i368 package and install after adding cross platform of i368 with "sudo dpkg --add-architecture i368" for the Anydesk " _5.5.6-1_amd64.deb "
Well I am not sure if it will work or not...

Actually why I wanted to install Anydesk is because it is simple to use and the Raspberry Pi is located 300 kilometres away in a small village from my location (Bangalore India). There my dad is using Raspberry Pi 4 4gb model running Ubuntu Mate 64bit 20.04lts as a desktop computer.
He is not much familiar with linux and I am supporting him over video call to do software installation. And all he got is a smartphone and Pi 4 at present COVID19 situation.
If anyone can suggest me any GUI based remote access application that can run on existing software it would be very helpful...
Thank you..

Hello all,
Finally today I got a remote access GUI application called "NoMachine" working on the pi. I installed on the Raspberry Pi 4 (4GB varient) running Ubuntu Mate 20.04, 64bit OS.
Installation is very simple by clicking on the downloaded ".Deb" file and install using standard package installer. I had download NoMachine for Raspberry Pi ARM V8 64 bit version.
Link is " =29&s=Raspberry "
Now I need to figure out how to use the software..

Finally I got TeamViewer working on Pi 4 running Ubuntu Mate 20.04.1 (64bit), it works great over internet with GUI.
Actually installing TeamViewer is very easy, just by downloading and install through package manager but it requires armhf architecture and can be added with "sudo dpkg --add-architecture armhf" initially also it may ask for libxtst6, which can be installed by "sudo apt-get install libxtst6:armhf".
Only thing is the TeamViewer software works as a host. I haven't yet figured out how to take remote access through Raspberry Pi.

are you using a Windows 11 VM hosted by Hyper-V? If so check if there is a session of anyone connected to the machine using Hyper-V. You should change the session option to basic session instead of enhanced session. This will help you connect with any desk. You have two ways of doing this:

I understood your problem and I just remembered it happen the same to me once but using a W10. I had several physical machines connected to the same firewall with same W10 version installed in all of them but for some reason in one of the machines anydesk wouldn't connect to the network. I didn't manage to fix that because I didn't really need it.

But I might have some thoughts about the trouble, if you ensure your network works properly (as you mentioned W10 machine works, I assume your network is fine too), then you should check that Windows Defender Firewall has the following entry rules:

It appears that AnyDesk has become the new goto application for remote access and support. I downloaded a .deb file from anydesk.com and tried installing it using Gdebi, but there was an error message saying something about dependencies. Eventually I managed to install it from the anydesk repositories using terminal commands that I found on anydesk.com. Once installed, it ran without problems.

3.3 The customer is obliged to register the licence key in the portal or in the application within 14 days of receipt. ANYDESK reserves the right to restrict or block access to the services if the Customer fails to comply with the aforementioned.

The apps in the antiX repos are primarily aimed at use between antiX boxes and are configured for simplicity and security of use. After installing the in-house app, the underlying apps can still be used with other similar apps. In such cases you have to take care of configuration yourself.

Outline
You seem to be interested in VNC connections. For this antiX uses x11vnc to serve a remote desktop and SSVNC to view the remote desktop. They are two independent apps that work together very well but do not depend on each other. It is possible to run x11vnc server on an antiX box and view it using a VNC viewer of your choice running on a box from an entirely different distro or even on a Windows system. The opposite is also possible i.e. the Windows system runs a VNC server of your choice and an antiX box runs an SSVNC viewer.

Cybersecurity researchers on Wednesday publicized the disruption of a "clever" malvertising network targeting AnyDesk that delivered a weaponized installer of the remote desktop software via rogue Google ads that appeared in the search engine results pages.

The campaign, which is believed to have begun as early as April 21, 2021, involves a malicious file that masquerades as a setup executable for AnyDesk (AnyDeskSetup.exe), which, upon execution, downloads a PowerShell implant to amass and exfiltrate system information.

"The script had some obfuscation and multiple functions that resembled an implant as well as a hardcoded domain (zoomstatistic[.]com) to 'POST' reconnaissance information such as user name, hostname, operating system, IP address and the current process name," researchers from Crowdstrike said in an analysis.

AnyDesk's remote desktop access solution has been downloaded by more than 300 million users worldwide, according to the company's website. Although the cybersecurity firm did not attribute the cyber activity to a specific threat actor or nexus, it suspected it to be a "widespread campaign affecting a wide range of customers" given the large user base.

The fraudulent ad result, when clicked, redirects users to a social engineering page that's a clone of the legitimate AnyDesk website, in addition to providing the individual with a link to the trojanized installer.

CrowdStrike estimates that 40% of clicks on the malicious ad turned into installations of the AnyDesk binary, and 20% of those installations included follow-on hands-on-keyboard activity. "While it is unknown what percentage of Google searches for AnyDesk resulted in clicks on the ad, a 40% Trojan installation rate from an ad click shows that this is an extremely successful method of gaining remote access across a wide range of potential targets," the researchers said.
