Motorcycle -Parking for motorcycles only (50cc and over engine displacement). Motorcycles may also park in unoccupied parking meter spaces by paying the meter fee. Motorcycles may not be parked in Faculty/Staff, Student or Economy parking spaces or in the Harmon Avenue Garage. Reserved permit holders who wish to park their motorcycle in a reserved lot instead of their primary vehicle must first purchase an approved permit display device in order to properly display the Reserved permit on the motorcycle. Faculty/Staff permit holders may purchase an approved permit display device to display their Faculty/Staff permit on their motorcycle and park it in motorcycle parking. This eliminates the need to purchase an additional motorcycle permit.
Sales tax is due on most purchases or acquisitions of motor vehicles. It is based on the total purchase price or fair market value of the vehicle, whichever is higher. When a vehicle is acquired for nominal or no monetary consideration, tax to be paid is based on the average value of similar vehicles.
$150 applies to passenger vehicles and fire trucks registered, or applying for registration, as Collector, Classic, Street Rod and Pioneer, regardless of actual purchase price or fair market value of vehicle. All other vehicles (trucks, one ton pickups, motorcycles) must pay 6.875 percent of the purchase price or fair market value.

Every vehicle operated on the University of Nevada, Reno campus is required to register with the Parking and Transportation Services Department and obtain an appropriate parking permit. Permits must hang from the rear-view mirror or be placed in a clear pocket and attached to the passenger side of the windshield. Permit information must face outward to be clearly visible. Permits remain University property and can be reclaimed if an individual's parking privileges have been revoked. Individuals are allowed to purchase one permit per person per academic term and parking permits are not transferable. The only exception to this is a motorcycle/moped and bicycle permit can also be purchased in addition to a vehicle permit.
Permit holders may receive a full refund of the annual or fall semester purchase price if the parking permit is physically returned to Parking and Transportation Services within two weeks of purchase or if the permit is returned by September 8, 2023, whichever is later.

This is the average price of a used motorcycle (in good condition with typical mileage) when purchased at a dealership. This price includes any repairs the dealership made before putting the motorcycle on the market.

A dealership may also make cosmetic repairs and add upgrades to make the motorcycle more attractive to potential buyers. This, of course, costs the dealership money, which is why the typical listing price is more expensive than the private sale price.
Note: If you want to buy a used bike out-of-state but are concerned about its condition, you can get a vehicle history report or have the bike inspected. Also, always review the Certificate of Title before making the purchase. The title will tell you if the motorcycle is a lemon, salvage vehicle or is severely damaged.
If you feel your motorcycle is in great condition, feel free to reflect this in its price. For example, a motorcycle that is practically brand-new with very little mileage will be worth more.
Note: Keep in mind that buyers frequent KBB just as sellers do. Meaning, buyers have access to the same information you do, and they are often looking for a deal. If a buyer sees your bike priced equal to or higher than the dealership (typical listing) price, they might skip your listing and go on to the next.
Immediately after a new motorcycle is purchased, its value begins to depreciate. On average, the value of a motorcycle decreases by 10% as soon as it leaves the dealership. And, each year it will continue to depreciate.
