Okay, I love using Croogo for http://tvnewsstreams.com/ . But it's not
as flexible as I would like. Or... Is it? I want to use Croogo as a
newsletter manager for my company. Currently we are using an outdated
version of Interwoven and it sucks ass. What I need Croogo to do is
recreate the functionality.

So what I need is to create a new content type for each kind of
newsletter our company sends. Let's break it down to something simple:
Editorial, Marketing and Events newsletters.

Each newsletter content type has different requirements for data
input. Editorial will have lets say 15 input forms, Marketing will
have 8 and Events will have 22. Each newsletter of course also has a
separate HTML and TXT file template. So Editorial, Marketing and
Events when published will look entirely different.

So. I need customized add and edit views based on the content type. I
also need it to change template view views.

Does this make sense? Is Croogo the right tool for this? If not is
there anything in the Cake family that is?

Cordially in your face-
but still cordially,

Spencer "Thunderball" Thayer!

I would use something like MailChimp. I believe there is a good plugin for mail chimp for cake.

My Switcher plugin allows changing layout/theme for each node or url path.

For editing custom fields, you could also use the plugin approach, ie: hookAdminTab, where the tab contains your custom fields.
Also, you'll need something similar to Model/SwitcherBehaviour.php to format your custom fields data before edits.

The provided suggestions are fine, but you'll definitely need
something somewhat custom developed.
I suppose you can also seek freelance developer support here if you'd
need it.
