Hi to all of the croogo community. Just a quick question to ask if Croogo is now dead? Looks like no activity since last year, and no responses to posts in this group either. Is it worth still battling along with Croogo, or is the project now dead?

I mean- i tried to reach out to you too and no response either :)

What do you expect?

I'd be happy to push but I don't understand the basics of it and thus no idea how to start developing.

I am Cake2 and couldn't get a "module" in Croogo running.

Consider switching to Laravel though.

Yeah, Croogo is for all practical purposes dead. I still run a few sites on the structure but it's highly modified and nothing like the original.

There are a ton of easy frameworks out now with built-in WYSIWYG GUIs now so at least there is that.

What framework would you suggest?

Laravel Voyager is awesome. https://laravelvoyager.com/.

Here is a list of other Laravel admin panels: https://cssauthor.com/best-laravel-admin-panel-generators/

But most modern MVC's have an accompanied BREAD(CRUD) admin panel that you can work with. CakePHP does not have one that I am aware of so I abandoned using it.

About voyager and lavalite : I tried both but get a lot of error with.. well... both.

About croogo : Yesterday I tried to work a little with last version (4.0) and a NOGO come's from massive vulnerability on filemanager that let you create *.php files.
This alone doesn't match my waitings. An issue was created (not by me) with this and I doesn't understand how a major version can come out with no fix about that.

About cake himself : we all have to admit that Laravel (and a lot of others framework) have a larger and growing community than CakePHP.
I worked with cake the past 10 years but I think it's time to say goodbye.
