Hi:
I am attempting to debug a Cromix/Unix booting issue.
The primary symptom is that booting Cromix and announcing that system configuration
complete the system stops running. My assumption is that the STDC should provide
an interrupt to tell the operating system that a new i/o is complete.
This same symptom occurs with UNIX after it lists out the memory allocation message.
All of this h/w used to work up until about two years ago when it stopped.
I put a logic analyzer on IC19 of the 16fdc board in order to monitor interrupt requests
and grants. However, there are no requests or grants showing up.
So the question is, should I see some kind of request/grant activity when booting
Cromix or UNIX ?
I should point out that XDOS and read the entire disk image with only 6 track errors.
These track errors are present on all the disk images that Marcus posted.
Also I can boot Cromix off a floppy and mount the Cromix image and use the
files on the mount point. I.e. the disk seems to be working.
I have checked the grant/request lines several times, and verified continuity
between the boards.
I am kind of stuck for the next step.
Thanks
JC
