...a damn non-functional TU-ART, lol.  I just can't get away from these stupid boards.  This one is completely dead, like it's not even addressable on the bus.  Of course it is all non-socketed, so time to break out the logic analyzer, lol.

With all the discussion about TUARTs and TUART problems, I was curious if anybody has any input about using TUARTs with non-Cromemco gear?

Seems to me I tried it years ago, and was disappointed that I couldn't get a TUART that was known good (worked well with Cromemco system) to work with non-Cromemco.  It was so long ago, I don't remember what backplane I used (terminated/non-terminated) or what the non-Cromemco hardware was.  Is this a non-starter?  I have a number of TUARTs, and it would be nice to be able to add serial and/or parallel to some of my other S-100 boxes.

Has anybody used one (successfully) outside of Cromemco hardware?

Well that was quick.  Broken trace.  It looked almost intentionally cut, but it would make no sense to cut A2 from the entire board.  Something sharp must of dragged across the board at some point.
