How different are the magic keyboard built inside the first M1 laptops compared to the external magic keyboard 2 that you would get with an iMac. Do they sound better/different, how the key travel, are the switches the same. From what i can tell the only difference seems to be backlighting.

I have vaio svs13125cgb laptop ( before vaio brand was sold ), I want to buy ssd and replace the hard drive, how do I keep the "rapid wake" feature ( not windows hibernation, not sure how sony did it) and the auto recovery feature on the machine ? ( It has hardware button ASSIST and VAIO next to power button )

I understand that for a UEFI install win10, you usually should have 4 partitions, but my laptop has 3 extra oem partitions as shown in the screenshot below. From the name I guess the third one is related to recovery ? Can I delete the 1st (260 MB) and 2nd one (997 MB)? And this laptop had win8 pre-installed, later upgraded to win10, I guess the recovery data is still win8 in the third oem partition, is there any way I can update the recovery with current win10 ?

The iPad Pro is a modular computer system, and you can choose to equip it to serve your needs. The Magic Keyboard gives the iPad Pro the ability to transform into a full-fledged laptop, complete with backlit laptop-style keys and trackpad.

But if you want an iPad that can also be a full-fledged laptop, the Magic Keyboard is the answer. Apple now sells two more laptops, an 11-inch model that starts at $1098 and a 12.9-inch model that starts at $1348. Those are pro laptop prices, but guess what? The iPad Pro is a pro laptop now. If and when you want it to be.

Been thinking about getting the iPad Air and magic keyboard for my wife. She uses her current iPad a lot, but misses having a real keyboard on those occasions when she needs to do some extensive typing. Any one have this setup and care to comment on how it works for you?

I'm talking about the 12-inch version of the Magic Keyboard -- the 11-inch model is a little more compressed. It works, but I also get that "typing on a Netbook" old-fashioned feeling I had years ago on 10-inch laptops. The side keys (Tab) and the edge-oriented keys (Return, some symbol keys) suffer the most. All the keyboard cases made for the 11-inch iPads have some sort of key compression like this, though.

The Magic Keyboard's odd design means it can't fold all the way back, with the keyboard parked behind the screen. You either use it as a laptop-thing, or fold it shut. iPads are sketchpads and readers, too, and you can't use the iPad easily for those purposes with the Magic Keyboard on. That means popping the case off (it attaches with magnets), and then you're left holding a naked iPad. Surely Apple can figure this out? The old Smart Keyboard cover isn't as good for work, yet was more flexible as a folio case solution. But it doesn't work with the Magic Keyboard-compatible iPads (Air, Pro).

Still having a hard time visualizing just how an 8.9 inch laptop compares to other computers, both bigger and smaller? Let me help you out. I did a photo shoot of the MAG1 with the Peakago 7 inch mini-laptop and the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 convertible notebook with a 13.4 inch display.

So while the MAG1 keyboard is similar to the one found on the One Mix 3 Yoga, I think the black keys with white illumination and the touchpad make this a much better device for folks looking for laptop-like input methods.

Unlike some other mini-laptops, there were no issues with screen rotation or the default scaling. In both cases, the operating system booted up quickly, the screen was set to landscape mode, and text and images were a comfortable size.

*** Please note - The table is designed specifically to house no more than a laptop and drink or other small items. The frame may bend if excessive force or weight is placed on the table top (No lamps or heavy ornaments).

The ACEMAGIC AX15 laptop comes in a plain cardboard box labeled with ACEMAGIC logo on the front and back/. The back contains product information indicating the RAM, SSD, market, and color. The top of the box includes a carrying handle and a locking top flap.

Setting up the ACEMAGIC AX15 laptop is typical of setting up any other Windows 11 machine. There are no extra steps involved. In fact, there are no extra drivers or custom software downloads available for this model from the ACEMAGIC website.

The ACEMAGIC AX15 has a subdued and conventional design. This is the grey model, which may be more austere than the silver model. There are no flashy accents or designs that would make this look out of place in a work setting. However, the look of the laptop is very modern. It has similar design motifs as models from other laptop manufacturers: a large mousepad, a base that curves up to meet the front edge, a thin black screen bezel, and a screen that drops down behind the rear of the base. The base of the laptop has large rubber feet to ensure that ample clearance is left for the fan to draw in cooling air. The base is made from a single piece of aluminum and is held in place with 10 conventional screws.

Flipping the computer back over, the keyboard is a 90% keyboard layout with full-size keycaps as determined by the fact that the spacing from the left of one key to the left of the next is 19 mm. The key travel is a bit shallower than a comparable laptop from Dell, Lenovo, or ASUS. The action is comfortable and should appeal to many users because of its Goldielocks qualities: not to stiff, not too spongy, not too loud, and not completely quiet. Using online rollover keyboard testers I can see that the keyboard can register between 3 and 4 simultaneous presses, so it could be used for gaming or emulating an instrument. The keyboard has some extended functionality across the functions keys. Shortcuts exist for sleep, Wi-Fi/airplane mode, Mute, Vol -, Vol +, Brightness -, Brightness +, Screen projection settings, and Screen lock. The keys for print screen, scroll lock, number lock, and insert are also secondary functions and must be pressed in combination with the Fn key. Pressing the Fn+Spacebar toggles the function of the mousepad buttons. The keyboard has a power button that looks like all the other keys. Pressing this momentarily puts the computer to sleep. Pressing the power button for a bit longer brings up this screen for shutting the computer down. Pressing and holding the power button continuously will cause the computer to shut down immediately. The keyboard is not backlit.

The screen hinge has a nice action. The cover of the ACEMAGIC AX15 laptop springs close when the screen is about one inch from the base and can open almost a full 180 degrees so that the computer screen can be viewed on a table by a group. The opening and closing of the cover can signal the computer to go to sleep and wake up. There is no specification of brightness but the adjustments can be made from very dim to very bright. I had no problems looking at this outside on a sunny day. The brightness seems uniform when looking at a completely white screen. There is no automatic brightness setting based on ambient light. Because it is an IPS technology screen it is easy to observe from very narrow angles and the anti-glare finish helps reduce reflections. There is no overscan on the screen because a 1920 x 1080 picture fits perfectly in view. I visited the site to identify response time and halos and found that the response time is about 15 milliseconds and that there are some noticeable halos.

The camera integrated into the ACEMAGIC AX15 bezel is a 1280 x 720 icspring camera. Most modern laptops include built-in webcams with a typical resolution of 1080p or 1440p. The Gadgeteer recommends 4K webcams for higher picture quality and the ability to crop the frame while keeping it sharp. Check out this link for more information.

The back of the screen or top of the laptop is made from metal and has a sandblast appearance with a large ACEMAGIC logo in the center. An Amazon review said the colors rub off but I cleaned the cover with rubbing alcohol and noticed no change.

It is easy to close the cover whenever you need to pause from working on something. After a few moments, the blue LED on the left side will start to breathe, indicating that the laptop has entered sleep mode. Upon opening the lid there is only a couple of seconds that pass before the login screen is displayed and then it is back to work!

I ran the ACEMAGIC AX15 laptop through a few benchmarking applications. The first was Cinebench release 23. The Gadgeteer recently reviewed the ACEMAGICIAN AD03 N95 Intel 12th Gen N95 Mini PC. This is the mini-pc sibling of the AX15 and has the same processor. Not surprisingly, the AD03 and AX15 performed similarly on the test.

That process has been years in the making, but in 2020, the iPad Pro is starting to feel more like a laptop replacement than ever before. Software improvements such as support for mouse and trackpad cursors, a new home screen that distinguishes the iPad from the iPhone, better multitasking features, and new accessories like Apple's Magic Keyboard case have contributed to this shift.

Overall, it's a welcome addition that will save you the hassle of having to reach up and touch the display to navigate the iPad's software, making it feel more laptop-like. But, there's still a little bit of a learning curve. I couldn't highlight and move text as easily when writing this review in Google Docs compared to a traditional mouse, for example.

Apple's Magic Keyboard offers one of the most laptop-like experiences available for the iPad. But, its high price should push you to consider whether an iPad or a laptop is best-suited for your work needs. A great keyboard and better multitasking features alone aren't enough to fully replace your laptop. It's still an adjustment and one that you need to be certain fits your workflow before investing in a pricey keyboard like the Magic Keyboard.

The Brydge Pro+ also simulates a MacBook-like experience with a design that even resembles Apple's laptops, offering a full keyboard and trackpad. Both Logitech's and Brydge's keyboards also include a function key row, which Apple's Magic Keyboard lacks.
