Hi,

Can you believe In less than two weeks we will be gathering for our 40th reunion? That is a long time! After spending most of the day in the yearbooks, I have a question, "How many set of twins were in our class?"  I think Mike Carlson knows the answer. Mike is an authority on our classmates and south Austin memories. He has done a remarkable job on Facebook. Check it out!

Does anyone know what happened to Mike Larson? Oh, by the way, the people who sent pictures will have more video time....  I know some of us would rather not have video time, like me. Iol!

See ya,
Carolyn G.

I think Mike Larson is living back in Oak Hill again after going back and forth to live and work in Las  Vegas. I’ll try to find out. I’ll leave the question of twins to Mike. I know of 8 sets for sure and maybes on a couple more.

Didn't all the football guys have the big head??? Just kidding!!! So, the first and second year how many football games did Crockett win? What would you say was the best game out of the two years? Who do you think was the MVP and why? What FB player looks the same as they did in HS? The last question, "Who weighs the same as they did in HS"??? Not me!!!

Brent McDonald was MVP our Senior Year, I think. And I have no idea who weighs the same as in high school. I sure don’t…You should ask Gary Bethel or Tommy Scarborough about the biggest win and how many we won, The record may actually be in the yearbook.

I thought the Walls and the Frietags were just brothers, didn't know about the Culps.  I don't think Mike and Linda were cousins and neither do I think that Rhonda and Craig was twins.  Craig's dad had Taylor Automotive on Manchaca across from Crockett for years and he never mentioned Rhonda to me.

Mike Meredeith has kept up with Coach Miles all these years.

Well, there is Me and Carla, Becky and Brent McDonald, John Ellison and Freda Weber, David Kornfueher and Susan Weber, Burt Chandler and Judy Wilson were married, Rhonda Klingerman and Mike LaTouf were married, Ed Mayberry and Linda Peterson were married, I seem to remember that Billy Moore and Becky Price might have been married at one time.  I can't think of any more right at this time...

Wow, I didn't know that! Does it count if you are married to someone in another Crockett graduation class? I am thinking about Janet Wilson, '70 and her husband, Virgil Justice, '69 and maybe more. How about Laurie and Joe? Oh, there is David Coke and Alicia from our class.

Virgil Justice and Janet Winston.   Joe actually graduated from Travis, but I guess that counts too, BTW, Laurie won’t be at the reunion because of a family vacation that was planned far in advance and they couldn’t change it.  Everything counts—we make the rules, right?

Tommy Scarborough and GayNell Jackman were married. Some years back,
I ran into Tommy and Gaynell at an airport (I think it was Baltimore-
Washington). They were doing Christian Ministry work.

Wait, I just read that. I mean they had a ministry somewhere and were
traveling, not that they had orange robes and were handing out
literature at the airport. Tommy still had that great personality
(and looked like Captain Kangaroo). I have many great memories of
Tommy, Gary Bethel, and me in Boy Scouts. And Tommy, Drake Delaney
and I had some great adventures in our youth. We wanted to build a
treehouse in Drake's backyard, but were a little short of material.
So we just nailed lawn chairs up in the tree and that was our
"treehouse". We would sit up there and pontificate on matters of
great importance. I remember that Tommy (I think it was he) was
sitting in his chair when the chair fell right out of the tree. We
laughed our butts off over that one.

Drake Delaney--wow! That brings back memories of Donnie Erickson, Taylor
Delaney and Philip Forsythe, Arthur Lane, Campbell's Hole, and Donnie's dog
Molly, who forever chased deer on Barton Creek. And didn't Shannon Harris
live in the cul-de-sac just past the Delaney's around to the left?

I have been looking at the list of people who are attending the reunion. I didn't realize how many classmates live in Austin. A lot of them have not responded to the event. Hope they do soon.
