Companion of the Linguistic Team International (LTI),

Hi! : )
There is a forum which was set up specifically for the LTI needs, where we hope all individual members from each language team will register and meet each others, meet your needs, share successes and cooperation, tools, working locations and methods of working.

The Linguistic Team International is growing to become the biggest international translations team ever and a single location for communication between all members and teams of this huge family is crucial if we want to meet its higher possibilities and proclaim it to the World.

With the most humble goal that brought and hold us together - a world without poverty, war and corruption - if you are a member of the LTI, please register; if you are a team coordinator, help maintain your language section of the forum operational with your team's projects for your team members and to welcome any newcomer that might come along.

If you have any questions, there are many volunteers frequently online wishing to help you : )

huge hugs,

Rodrigo (nomada)

Hi Rodrigo,

Nice to hear from you again. Just to let you know, I'm working on the final touches of the subtitles. I will be done sometime during this weekend.

Best regards,

Franjo

Hi! Great news Franjo : ) Please let everyone know when you finish it, on the LTI forum and Facebook
http://www.facebook.com/groups/ZMLinguisticTeam/
http://forum.linguisticteam.org/
those are the moments/milestones that inspire everyone to engage even harder ; ) And this exchange between all members and teams of the LT is what makes it a wonderful family : )

oh, and Josip offered to coordinate the Croatian team. i wonder if you are in contact already? I think he is aware of at least the central structures and tools of the LTI, so he will surely be able to help with anything you might need ; )

huge hugs,

Greetings sentients. I don't know if this is of concern to anyone but for what it's worth I would like to elaborate on my complete inactivity and lack of contribution to the efforts of the Cro. Ling. Team since I joined.

I have been completely immersed in developing and writing my final thesis. I have basically soiled myself by accepting a subject that I knew most nothing about. It took ages just to scrounge up the necessary information.

It will however all be over with by the end of the month, at which time I intend to go to work translating.

Thanks for reading this.

Well Rodrigo...

I'm happy to say that the translation is now completely done :)

This means that, in my humble opinion, we have as good Croatian translation of the Zeitgeist: Moving Forward as possible. Although I double checked everything, there is always a small possibility that I missed something, but even if so, it would be something really minor. So, this translation is good enough to be used on national TV, cinemas, large auditoriums... I think even in front of a group of hardcore linguists would have little to object :))

So I'm really happy you gave me a chance to fix this all the way through and thank you for this. On the other hand, I'm also aware of the fact that nobody or almost nobody will really care about this or even notice something is different, but it means a lot for me personally... I hope you can relate to what I'm saying. There is nothing that makes me happier than translation done right - the same way there is nothing that can be so frustrating than translation done ... not so well ... and I took this one quite personally, as it is about a movie that conveys a very important and powerful message, and I felt it is my duty to help the best way I can - and it was via working on the subtitles.

Anyways, let me put a note about this on the Facebook, and then head off to bed.

Best regards,

Franjo

Hi Franjo!!! great news!!! : )

If there seems to be not many people caring about that ZMF's Croatian translation is fully proofread and impecable, I am sure that the ones who have participated in the translations or share that same feeling of voluntarily help to spread this message further, will enjoy very much to know. And all the others that will watch the video in Croatian will be influenced positively by the quality of the translation into absorbing the information and accepting it also; even if they wont notice it. And that is one of the main reasons we aim at quality above all ; ) Too many already abandoned the efforts because of the lack of quality before. I am glad we are not commiting, or at least we are cleaning, those mistakes again : )

I hope Josip, the Croatian team coordinator, is around. If you are there, Josip, I would like to use this moment to teach you how to make a ToDo in the LTI forum; which consists basicaly to anounce that an item is fully proofread and ready to go to the Repository. That way Bruno, who is organizing the repository so that we can spread the results of the Ling.Team out there on the internet, can upload the SRT.

Thanx for the wonderfull news, Franjo! : )
