This is the second meeting for the start up of a nonprofit organization for the moroccan residents in the Capital Region of New York State.
This meeting focused on reading the BYLAWS of the American Moroccan Society (AMS), then figuring out how to adapt this document to our needs and goals.
While reading the articles of the Bylaws, we had some questions as follow:
It was suggested to add the point “E”- activities for youth/all ages
Also, the point about religious orientations.
It was raised the question of the legal status of the community. Go or no go for independent or chapter under AMS.
Second step, under each status how financially we will create our budget, combined or independent.
Abdelkarim Tmane suggested to stagger nominations of the Trustees (alternate the termination of some while some still on duties)
At the end of the meeting, most/all members agreed and show commitment to participate/involve with their time, money, and energy.
Note: for the next meeting on April 16, 2016, we will send out an agenda based on the summary of your questions during these two weeks. The timeframe will be no more than 2 hours (suggestion)
