Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

Dear Parents,

Thank you for patiently waiting to hear about the changes to our Weekend School program. As discussed in our previous meetings, InshaAllah, we will be launching our "One day program" starting  April 2nd 2016. All children who are currently attending classes in the morning session will attend "SATURDAY ONLY" and the hours will be from 10 am to 3 pm (SHARP, no excuses). All children who are currently attending classes in the afternoon session will attend "SUNDAY ONLY" and the hours will be from 10 am to 3 pm (SHARP, no excuses).

As a new initiative, kids will assemble in the mussallah area in the morning to say their Morning Adhkar before they go to their assigned classes. The program will consist of four main subjects:

Quran Reading
Islamic Studies
Arabic as a language
Quran Memorization

Lunch break will include Dhuhr salat and some other educational activities such as: quizzes, trivia, lectures and Islamic movies

Now that your children will be in school all day, we recommend that you send a nutritious lunch with them and a healthy snack.   PLEASE do not send sugary snacks and unhealthy food as we will also be discussing the importance of healthy eating habits.  Some suggestions are as follows:
Fruits, Applesauce (Unsweetened), Fruit Cups, and Canned Fruit, Dried Fruit, Frozen Fruit, Vegetables, dips, crackers, Pita bread, rice crackers, Granola bars,  Pretzels, bread sticks, nuts, trail mix, peanut butter and water.
Note: Water should be the main drink served to kids at snack times and I definitely don't want to see any soda given to our lovely kids.

Please also be very mindful of where you park, when you drop off your children and when you pick them up. We have been experiencing some traffic issues lately and received neighbors complaints about the jam that parents create during the pickup and the drop off times. We really need to be considerate and avoid to be selfish in order to be a good model to our kids inshaaAllah.

Please also note that if your child is under 5 years old, you need to come inside the classroom to pick him/her up and to help this process go smoothly, children in Sr. Humaira’s class will be dismissed around 2:45pm to minimise traffic and parking issues.

Jazakum Allah khayr wassalamu alaykum wa rahmatuAllah.
