Plan International Pakistan is pleased to announce the launch of project “Strengthening CRVS (Civil Registration and Vital Statistics) in Pakistan through Appropriate use of Digital Technologies/Digital Birth Registration (DBR)”. This is an innovative approach that uses IT solutions and mobile phone technology to register births at community’s doorstep.

Currently, Pakistan has very low rate of birth registration (27%, UNICEF 2011 State of World Children Report). The new DBR solution aims to replace old manual system with a digital civil registration database and increase the birth registration rates to up to 80% by 2018 in target districts (Chiniot in Punjab and Sujawal & Tando Muhammad Khan in Sindh).”

Plan International has planned the launch ceremony of DBR project on Thursday, 04th May 2017 on 10:30 am-01:00 pm at Marriot Hotel, Islamabad.
