At CES 2023 PEUGEOT has unveiled the fully electric Inception Concept, a technology and design showcase featuring a distinctive interior and a design language that will be adopted on production models from 2025.

The artificial intelligence equipped on the Inception Concept makes it possible to recognise the driver in order to set up the comfort settings (seat posture, temperature, driving mode and multimedia preferences) desired by each occupant. In addition, the Tech Bar also displays the battery charge level and houses many sensors and radars, leaving the bodywork completely smooth.

With its new Hypersquare control system, the Inception Concept offers an agile driving experience and an all-new, more intuitive i-Cockpit. Inspired by video games, the Hypersquare control system does away with the conventional steering wheel in favour of digital electric controls and steer-by-wire technology.

The centre of the Hypersquare is a tablet-type screen dedicated to the distribution of control information. The pictograms for the different features (air conditioning, radio volume, ADAS etc.) are displayed on the two side panels to facilitate access to the chosen control. The latter is located inside the circular recesses and can be accessed by moving the thumb only, without taking your hands off the steering control.

The next generation i-Cockpit also includes the Stellantis STLA SmartCockpit technology platform and STLA AutoDrive, enabling Level 4 autonomous driving. When driving is delegated, Hypersquare retracts and a large panoramic screen slides out from the floor to offer a new passenger compartment experience.

The 100% electric Inception Concept is equipped with 800V technology. Its 100kWh battery enables it to travel 497 miles on a single charge, with extremely low consumption of just 12.5kWh per 100 km. The Inception Concept is capable of adding 19 miles of range in one minute, or 93 miles in five minutes, and can also be recharged wirelessly by induction.

Settle into the wraparound fabric seats with an element of orange stitch in the new PEUGEOT 2008. The interior trim has been crafted with care for its quality, cleverly combining finest materials and original shades.

The new PEUGEOT 2008 ACTIVE comes with a premium surround system, with high-end acoustic installation that provides a rich, detailed and dynamic soundstage along with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. This makes driving an absolute pleasure.

Over the years, Peugeot has come up with some really quirky interior designs, but this time around it seems the French have done an excellent job. The adjacent pictures show the interior of the next-generation 3008 which as recent spy shots have shown, will make the transition from an MPV to a crossover.

Our latest batch of spy images also showed a camouflaged prototype with an entirely digital instrument cluster and now we get a better view of the display which appears to have a more than generous size. Gone are the analog dials as these have been replaced by a wide, customizable digital screen that sits up top like on other recent Peugeots with the i-Cockpit dashboard configuration.

The steering wheel is also a sight to behold, featuring a two-spoke design and a flat surface for the upper and lower areas. In addition, the gear shifter is also a bit of a novelty with its interesting shape, and there seems to be blue ambient lighting to create a cozy atmosphere.

When I bought the van the interior lights in the rear never worked. I tested the wires and there was no power to them. Rather than mess about I just installed battery powered lighting but it's not great. I'm after installing an LED strip in the back as we work until 11pm and it's a nightmare seeing anything.

Had the wires that were connected to the original light been live, I'd have branched off them. As they aren't I'm unsure how to wire light in to the back. The front interior light works and if I remember correctly, th rear lights are on the same fuse, so the fuse is fine. I tried to trace the wire from the rear but it runs to the back corner and then disappears across the back to somewhere. I can't even find any switches on the rear doors that would operate the rear lights when the doors open so I'm a bit puzzled.

yes i have th same problem, the lights in te back of my 1.9d dispatch look stock, but have no wires going to them, and the rear doors have no switch, i think the vans come with lights clicked in, but not wired up, and no door mechansims to activate them.
so i guess if we really want light in the back, we have to conjure up our own door switch and power, etc. i just use a led strip light that goes around the entire roof edges, it plugs into the 12v cigarette socket.

My 2004 Scudo has a working light in the back, but as far as I can tell they were never fitted with door switches. You have to turn the light on and off manually by pressing one end of the lens. Bit crap really.. One day I may get around to fitting door switches.

What I need is to get a live feed into the back. I want to add an LED strip but I also need to add an on and off switch. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's not possible to take a feed from the front interior light is it? My rear light would only work with the front doors open, even with a switch? Or am I confusing myself? Lol. Where is best to get a live feed? Some have gone from the battery but surely there is an easier route?

Open your interior front light to expose the wires. With the doors shut locate the feed wire. This will be the constant live so use a meter. That is the one you take a feed from so the feed wire direct to a switch then onto the light. Just put the light earth wire onto the van roof/side wherever you mount the strip light.

Thanks for the pic, Ken. Strangely my 04 Scudo doesn't have switches there. Must be somewhere because the light comes on when the front doors are opened. Never been able to find them. Maybe it's witchcraft!

The concept features elements of the interior 3D printed using technology from Stratasys. The seats and floor are covered with velvet, made from 100% recycled polyester according to the company, with a metallic sheen designed to play with the light diffused by the glass capsule.

Peugeot says that to complement the new views offered by the postures of the seats and the clear view towards the road, the velvet is extended onto the floor. It is then printed with 3D patterns to act as a floor mat, with the company saying the continuity between the seats and the floor being achieved with a single material.

Stratasys uses the J850 TechStyle 3D printer for implementation of 3DFashion technology. The build plate of the machine features a build plate of 460 x 360 x 50 mm, and is compatible with different Vero families of materials, a selection of Agilus materials, flexible materials, transparent VeroClear, Vero ContactFlex and VeroUltraClear.

TCT spoke to Stratasys' Naomi Kaempfer, Art, Design and Fashion (ADF) Creative Director for the company about 3D printed fashion and sustainability in issue 30.4 of the European edition of TCT Magazine. The Peugeot 604 is an executive car produced by the French manufacturer Peugeot from 1975 to 1985. 153,252 cars were sold during its 10-year production life. It was made in France and also assembled by Kia in South Korea, between 1979 and 1981.[1][2]

The Pininfarina-designed 604 was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1975[3] and drew praise for its formal, handsome styling. Denmark's Bilrevyen 1976 ("The Car Review 1976"), for example, described the styling as possessing a "calm elegance".[4] Sales began in September 1975.[3] Based "on the principles of the Peugeot 504",[5] using its bulkhead,[6] doors, and part of the 504 floorpan,[7] and usually powered by the then-new 144 PS (106 kW) 2.7-litre V6 PRV engine, developed in conjunction with Renault and Volvo,[5] the car was Peugeot's first entry into the large luxury saloon market for 40 years - the most recent being the short-lived Peugeot 601 of 1934.[7]

The Sochaux-built 604 represented Peugeot's first entry into the market segment for executive cars since the 1930s.[8] It augmented the Peugeot range.[7] The drive to enter a product in this class came from the increased affluence of the French market which Peugeot felt could accommodate a car more expensive than the 504.[9]

The 604 had several noteworthy attributes. From the 504, it inherited a damped and supple ride,[13][14][15] equal to a contemporary Jaguar XJ6, its "good handling",[16] its spacious passenger compartment[15][17][18][19] and highly rated steering described as "a model of its kind",[16] "highly accurate"[20] and "one of the finest yet produced".[15] The 604 had unusually wide opening doors which made entry and egress very easy for users.[21] This was especially appropriate for the car in its role as a limousine.[22]

Despite critical success, the 604 was a commercial failure.[23] The production of 153,252 units was half that of the V8 engine Rover 3500 and an eighth of its stablemate, the CX. Peugeot made a profit on each car made, primarily because of the shared tooling and engineering with the 504, but the car ceased production without an immediate successor.
