My book is a memoir of raising Queer NonBinary kid who, without warning, hints, or clues became estranged.
As a sociologist who studied estrangement said, Although over 33 million people in the US are estranged from at least 1 family member, only a very small percentage ever reunite. In his opinion, those who succeed in reuniting are those who are willing to do anything in order to do so.
After over 4.5 years, I succeeded in reuniting with my kid. I've accepted that they will probably never tell me why they became estranged. My book is my effort to find an answer or answers.
I've written more than enough pages, which I've revised and polished, and gotten feedback from a number of people on about 1/2 to 2/3 of the book--more on the 1st half--and am closing in on how to end it.
A while ago, I pitched it to an agent who expressed interest, but among other things, she wanted a complete synopsis. Since I hadn't actually finished it, I didn't submit the MS to her.
Let me know if you're interested in a trial run--exchange of roughly a chapter.
