The Frame is a sapphic romantic horror, that explores the persistence of both love and grief and how they can both be out of one's control. Set predominantly in London in 2017, it follows Samira, a graphic designer of East African descent, and June, an adoptee originally from Asia as they fall in love intensely, only to find out that their relationship was fated long ago.
Upon finding a painting of them both from the 1800’s, they are taken down a path of discovery to find that they have been together in many lifetimes due to a sacrifice made years ago to ensure they could keep finding each other until they reach a time when they could be together without persecution. The price of the sacrifice? One of them must pass away before turning 30. In 2017, they must make the decision as to whether they want to live out this life together, and bring an end to something decades in the making, or start again in the hopes of a better life, and try not to lose their minds in the process.
I'd love to read something from a similar genre and would love to have an ongoing dialogue with a partner on our works.
Thanks!
