Hello everyone!

I'm putting my feelers out to try and find active crit partners who are interested in my genre and are willing to forge a long-term partnership where we can swap stories, brainstorm, just write chat, or work through snags. Preferably someone who has the time and interest to invest, and I will be delighted to do the same!

My Genre(s): Epic Fantasy, Queer/LGBTQ (BL), Historical Fantasy
Last book read: Fellowship of the Ring
Current project wordcount: 115k
Will Read: Fantasy (ANY!), Romantasy (Queer/Hetero), Historical Romance

My project: I am currently writing a duology set in a high fantasy world, heavily inspired by Celtic and pagan tradition. It is a enemies-to-lovers, painful slow burn, deep world-building.

Warnings: SA, mentions of child SA, violence (iron-age), animal death

My prose style may be a bit dense to some readers, so I may not appeal to everyone and that's okay! But as a crit partner I am a very enthusiastic reader, I will be happy to get invested in your work, provide constructive feedback and suggestions, but also I can be your biggest cheerleader and hype person! I have experience with crit partners already, and I can adjust to your specific tone or needs depending on how you process criticism. I am a VERY wordy person and very enthusiastic! I hope to find partners who can match my energy.

If you're interested, please comment here or mail me at kerrigan...@gmail.com and we can do some trial swaps! I primarily communicate through Discord, but email is absolutely fine, too!

Thanks!
Lynn

Hi Lynn,

I'm intrigued! I'm currently in my third draft of a contemporary folk horror novel set in Appalachia. First draft finished at 155k, second draft finished at 130k, and since I'm unagented and looking to debut, I'm working to get it to 100k.

My other projects which are currently on the backburner are an urban fantasy series and a generation-spanning space opera. These days, I'm also really looking to build up a supportive group of writers for the long term, and I currently have one crit partner I work with consistently who has reviewed both drafts of my WIP as well as an alpha reader.

Current Project Details [working title: Summer Omens]
- Single 3rd person POV (past tense)
- Good fit for readers of Lee Mandelo, M.L. Rio, Nora Sakavic, and Andrew Joseph White
- NA queer standalone supernatural horror with southern gothic elements
- Summary
Hez never intended to leave his small town, but when his tight-knit friend group reconvenes in Boothe for one last unexpected summer before moving on to new horizons, the efforts of a supernatural force they barely understand, the business dealings of their local ambitious drug dealer, and the consequences of a killer in their midst nobody knew existed conspire to ensure none of them leave again, like it or not. Everything seems to lead back to Hez's best friend Paulsie who disappeared in the winter and returned with the spring, changed. With Paulsie either unwilling or unable to explain his absence, Hez must embrace supernatural abilities he has tried to ignore since childhood to understand what is happening if they are to avoid encroaching tragedy.

TWs (including but not limited to): gore/body horror, drug and alcohol use & abuse, referenced childhood neglect/abuse, victim blaming (internal/external), explicit sex, referenced SA & CSA, explicit SA, self harm, depression/anxiety, panic attacks, issues with abandonment, dissociation, torture

If this sounds interesting to you, let me know and we can set up a trial chapter exchange :)
