Hi everyone,
Sanderson recently coined "modern" high or epic fantasy: no elves, premises different from old fantasy, long form, adult, often happening in cities, often blending magic and technology, written in modern POV technique. To this I add his own flavor: high in magic research, mystery-driven.
I'm looking for (ideally long term) critique partners for such work. I plan to be published, have several premises in the pipeline, and seek like-minded writers who above all want to improve and learn technique.
In exchange I can read your stuff, tell you exactly what's working and why, listen to what you're trying to achieve, and suggest you structures and techniques for how to get there.
My own writing is very reader-centered, with high intentionality in search for specific impact. What I need is someone to tell me how I'm landing. The more technique you bring with you, and the more ability to suggest how I can land the right way, the better.
Contact me to exchange samples. I'm not yet great at writing blurbs yet, but I can manage something to show you.
Thanks for your time!
