Need feedback for first ~5k of historical thriller

Hello! I'm writing an adult novel set in 1920s Miami Beach, FL and I'm looking for some fresh eyes on just the first couple chapters this week. It is short notice, but if you have the time and would like to read about psychological manipulation and organized crime, reply and we can get started.

Of course I'm available to give feedback on something of similar word count, but I won't be able to commit to any longer projects for another month or so. However if we seem like a good fit we can definitely talk about continuing!

Additional info: I don't have an agent, I'm working on revisions now with plans to query for trad publishing. A couple books I've loved somewhat recently are Jules Verne's "From the Earth to the Moon" and "Project Hail Mary" by Andy Weir.
