to Critique Partner Matchup

Hello!

Our 3-person critique group recently lost one of its members. We're hoping to find one (or at most 2) writers to take her place.

One of us writes cozy mysteries, the other (me) writes cozy paranormal women's fiction. We're looking for a partner who writes the same or similar and is at least somewhat familiar with one or both genres.

We share chapters by email and meet 2x/month over Zoom for in-person feedback. (Written feedback is welcome too, but we really value the chance to talk things out). We generally submit 1-3 chapters at a time.

We sometimes chat about marketing, accountability, and other writing-related topics, too.

We are honest—but kind!—and reliable, and are looking for the same.

Questions? Think you might be interested? Hit me up!

to Critique Partner Matchup

Sarah,

I lost a great critique partner two years ago and haven’t been able to find another. My reading and writing style are third-person limited using deep POV concepts.

I agree with you one hundred percent. A critique partner should have a similar writing style and interests. Writing is like playing music. If one wants to learn how to play the blues using a tenor saxophone, one does not team you with a guitarist who plays country.

Read the sample chapters in my last three novels and see if I might fit in your group.
